Has the Thermaltake Xaser VI been evaluated? It has the 10 slots but is it big enough?

GoofyR Finally got my DD Double Wide Tower 21 Black Series-Bruiser -UV Blue. 21inch length x 17inch wide x 21inch height. Had two PSU's cut on one side rotated second unit opening. Had two 120mm fan openings cut in top for Corsair H50's. MBtray size 20 x 20 most of the holes line up. will need to drill and tap 2. HDD rack attaches to top on PSU side. Wrong I/O panel shipped 7 slot. DD has already shipped me a 10 slot. Hardware ON/OFF buttons 5.25 mounts. $579.00 with shipping. They also make a 24x16x24 for 3 rad setups. If you don't require any cutting its $411.94 shipped add $115.00 for any custom cutting. My DD Double Wide built and ready for SR-2.

What color acrylic did you get? i went with nightmare, black front and back but i left the back clear because i wanted the day light to shine thru the case from behind during the day lol but man i had JUST got off the phone with Debbi from DD, literally submitted the order couple seconds ago, this time tho... i went with same front and black panels, 10 slot pci of course, and mounting for 2x quad rads in the front, also did a final twist to it - i made them do ALLL horizontal slots in place of their 120mm "DD grill" similar to these 2 below but etched into the doublewide, keep it simple

lgustavomp Zelos here a case that could fit : http://www.hec-group.com.tw/pccase/98/ It share the same chassis base with the TT Xaser, so, if the xaser fit, that HEC will. But my guess is that they aren't deep enough. Attached you can see at left "HEC 98" and right the "Xaser" lsudvm Has the Thermaltake Xaser VI been evaluated? It has the 10 slots but is it big enough? The Xaser also shares the same chassis as the TT Armor+, which i have. Obviously it fits length wise because of the 10 pci slots. But from my crude measurments, it will not fit width wise. The case seems to be 14" wide in the mobo area, and the SR2 is 15" wide.

I was watching this thread for a good time now, before I made my decision about the case to buy, I had my eye on the Lian-Li PC-P80. I noted that there was talk about adding extra supports on the MB tray, however the first post did say, updates to follow, now nothing. I have now bought the PC-P80 case and of course I await for the SR-2 to become available in the UK. However did I miss something about the extra supports? Many thanks, Colin. Fold4life.com

Fold4life.com I second this request. I am looking at purchasing a PC80 and would like to go ahead and know what extra work needs to be done to accomodate the motherboard? Also, I was wondering if I will need to modify the motherboard tray for anything other than adding the standoffs? I have only been able to find non-adhesive standoffs. Are these the ones that were mentioned previously in this thread or am I missing a specific type overall? Any insight would be appreciated. It's been 5 years since my last PC build and it seems I'm quite out of the loop.

No extra work needs to be done. EVGA supplies you with the sticky back standoffs in the SR-2 box! :) I cut my 24pin power connector up a little bit trying to squeeze it in between the Hard drive bays and the mobo. The case has very sharp edges.

So, what are the current off the shelf choices (not MM)? The Lian-Li PC80 ? How about HAF and Thermaltake ? Please post if you have successfully installed the SR2 in an existing Case.

Hello, New to this community. I have bought the SR-2 and amn planning Twin Westmeres, 4X GEforce465 SLI, 4 X 2tb Seagate 64mb Cache 7200 rpm Hdrives, 24 GB ram. SSD boot. Some questions for forum experts: Seems like Mountain Mod Ascension Extended is best available choice for case. (Dont seem to be any others and CoolerMaster has no new or release date I know of yet) Mountain Mod Ascension Extended: It is a monster with plenty of fan support. Still need water cooling? Suggestions on air / water cooled system? Where is the Mountain Mods control panel for USB, Firewire, Sata? Any suggestions to beef up this build or absolute necessities for quality system highly appreciated. Thanks William

It is not the case I would have chosen but as selection is limited I think it makes sense and I didn't want to go down the MM route. There is no doubt in my mind that it is the case to get for the Sr-2, right now. The fans aren't the most quiet but they are not loud.
