I hate to ask this but if anyone comes across a rack mount chassis that fits this thing, please post. I could hack up the lian li, but the fit would be pretty strange in a rack.

Supermicro has a chassis that it might fit, forget the model though. They use it fortheir quad-sli rig..

I just ordered the SR2, but I am waiting around for a compatible chassis that isn't as FUGLY as all the ones mentioned. I hope CoolerMaster comes thru for us with a case that will have the HPTX form factor. If not, I guess i will grab a HAF-X and a few of my rusty tools and make it work. The only one I would consider is the PC P80, but it doesn't have much appeal to me. I may just go with the SR2 plate from MM and put it on a rack, leaving it open and exposed. The Mountain Mods are just too big and plain, the Danger Den double Acrylic is my second choice, but it's hideous too. I just can't believe the lack of planning and coordination between the case makers and EVGA to produce a case that is designed for gamers and is made to support the HPTX size. I'm about 4 weeks away from actually having all the parts, minus the case of course. I hope something happens soon, these cases that many of you have suggested are just way too old and outdated, not to mention ugly and too original looking. I think a new form factor deserves a new case with a new look and more extras!!! EVGA should have used this new form factor as an opportunity to introduce themselves into the case making market. They should have made their own case and had it ready before their release of the SR2. It would have defenitely been a great marketing strategy to add a new type of accessory to their arsenal. Or, at least coordinate with other companies such as CoolerMaster, ThermalTake, Antec, and others. Shame on you.

Hey Leesano I am with you on this! It s a complete screw up on EVGAs part plus I cant believe the case makers don't want to cash in on the initial rush. I have been searching the web but there is absolutely no news of any case except the one from EVGA and Coollermaster and even those seem to be the same case. No one will share any release date information so the customer can plan something. I am at the point of almost dropping the whole SR 2 idea. I mean what else haven't they planned for. YES EVGA IF YOUR CUSTOMER BASE IS TICKED OFF. .. Surely you can do better in 4 weeks after the SR2 release than ..........here are these two cases we a re testing more....... . . . . .. . .

You have a few choices and that's to buy what is available, the MM or LL cases or even a slick looking SM tower I've seen with a SR2 in it or wait for someone else to bring one out that meets your "likes" or have one custom built. What you don't have is the right to blast EVGA because you can't fine what appeals to you. They don't make cases, they make motherboards and video cards.

I get home in about an hour, I'll post them then. One annoying thing that I plan to remedy about the PC P-80 and the ST1500 is at the top of the case where the PSU goes in the PC P-80 the fan on the PSU and the cut out in an aluminum shelf for the PSU fan dont line up since the ST1500 is elongated and the fan is centered on it. For anyone else planning this build you will need to do a little dremel work if you want maximum airflow even though it does seem to do just fine so far with the fan partially blocked.

Here are some pics showing the fan issue I mentioned, the clearance of the board and overall fit in the PC P-80. Also there is no way to bend that 24 pin cable behind the HDD cages safely if anyone is wondering :). And no jibes about all the cables, I haven't cleaned up everything yet haha. Pics

Hey ddg00101, Thank you for posting the pix. Nice setup . Did you see the PSU Extender for the Lian-Li's. It looks like it might work pretty good for you. It extends my psu 59mm out with P-80 case. I forget where I got mine, but I paid like $15. Is there room to turn the Megahalems towards the back of the case? Or at least one of them (CPU2)? http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=23950

Ah, that might be a good buy for me. Also yes you can turn them both sideways as well due to the way the mounting brackets work. I chose to have them like they are so i could have one blowing down and the other up keeping air moving throughout the whole chassis and a decent amount of turbulence present in the case. Also changed the rear fan last night to one thats got a much higher CFM and will be changing the front and top 140mm fans with some higher output ones as well.

The HAF-X is no where near long enough for HTPX motherboards. It was designed specifically for XL-ATX.

Ok, never mind, XL-atx is about 13.5x 10.3 in. and HTPX is 13.6 x 15.0 in. Now, I still have doubts, because the HAF X is 23.20" x 9.10" x 21.70" (L x W x H), do hd cages and all stuff in front really take more than 8" (which would be the difference between the case length and the mobo's)
