nice duallies everyone!!! I'd love to see more pics or vids of the EVGA 2CPU beauties!

I also hope that EVGA will make a smaller 2CPU motherboard that is like the Supermicro X8DAL-3 but then with 2x PCI-E 2.0x16 with SLI and CFX support

This motherboard has the ATX form factor of 12x 10.5" ideal for smaller systems, and it has 1x PCI-E 2.0 x16 @ x16 and 1x PCI-E 2.0 x16 @ x4

This is a smaller solliton that has same CPU and ram performance performance as the SR2, imagine that  It's something worth mentioning I thought

hahah riiiight me a bot, pretty D-Brained for a few to even get that to their weak minds... don't exaggerate the point, I am rather famous in 2CPU and VGA land, the SR2 is not bad, but as being a 2CPU motherboard it's not kinda useful for games either, as workstation motherboard or a renderfarm motherboard, it can be more useful for some certain aspects,  overall it lacks too many things a server or workstation board needs.

Anyways I am no bot, my idea might seem more useful as to a better and improved motherboard design for users that are willing a 2CPU system with a much smaller mainboard size, that is ATX compliant and if you know how wide a dual slot VGA card is, then you will know that this board will easilly fit two HD 5970's or GeForce GX2's side by side in them PCI-E x16 slots, that is if you really read and understood my previous post, of not read it again...

But it seems some have no understanding about VGA's cards when it comes to sizes... meh, this does not convince me, first some see me as a bot and second some even wonder this and third some don't have the slightest idea who they are talking about.

This as being a good example of no know how of VGA card aspects...

This breaks all boundaries rofl..

So to be honest, I am from numerous places.

With the user name Obi-Wan Kenobi I am from these places:
NVIDIA forums
x-3dfx.com
xcpus.com
benchtec.uk
Interplay forums
D2X-XL forums

And as Gold Leader at the following
V6K Team
DXX-Rebirth.com
DescentBB.net
DescentBB.com
3dfx.ch/gallery
descentforum.de
The NJO forums
2CPU.com

And many more places, I have been using 2CPU systems since January 28, year 2000, what EVGA did with the SR2 is a little dissapointing for my needs, it misses a lot of important features being a 2CPU board and B 2CPU is useless for games ,as for benchmarks, I'm more like thats not really important, synthettic programs, Real Time Simulations, Enterprise computing, clustering, Video encoding, converting music and video files and then compiling them and so on, this is where 2CPU systems shine, the more CPU's with more cores each the better things will proceed, as for Overclocking that's childs play when using 12 core to 48 core systems you don't care about OCing because you'd bring issues to the system, the systesm have to be 200% crash free and thus 200% reliiable as well, it's more about reliability, stability and performance at very high rated workloads that deliver the best overall performance when it comes to 2CPU or more. More cores per CPU is important as well, the more CPU's with more cores the better, it's the amount of cores that really give you a greater boost in speed than just the extra Mha you add with a SQL or OCL overclock, which is hardly not noticable.

But benchmarks like 3D Mark meh that's the worst stuff on the market, it's scoring system is very unprecise, it's over commercialized and it's packed with cheats, hacks and other uninteresting nonsense.

@ 2CPU.com, xcpus.com and x-3dfx.com we prefer the more serious stuff like Passmark's Performance Test 7 Professional x64, Cinebench 11.5 x64, Furrmark x64 and SiSift Sandra, there are a few others.

Here's something I got from a friend of mine he's running a cluster of 32 Dual W5580's

And now he complains because Windows Data Center 2008 does not support more than 256 cores rofl, I told him to take Linux then.

He is planning to upgrade to 32 Dual Beckton bases servers, hereby skipping Westmere...

Anyways for the ones that think I'm a bot, they are deeply mistaken... Have fun with your toys lol.

Peace and Don't Panic

to me computers is life without them I'd lose my mind and btw I'm not Joe, never heard of that guy meh.

Computers specifications should be taken seriously if you are talking about precise details, I just don't accept being called a bot or a spam bot, btw that was not smart either ...

As for now, I'm leaving this place aside, it just has too many issues and it feels unpleassant.

take care.

I'm custom wiring parts of both PSUs and the fans, so that's keeping me busy. However, until there's a chipset block, I can't even plan the loop(s) so I'm trying to finish up everything I can for the dry run.  I'm only missing the procs now, will either run 5650s or 5680s depending on cash flow...

jwmiele Still looking for a 140.2
I went with the SR1s for my build, and would recommend them for you as they are probably the best rads that actually come in the sizes you need. G'luck.

if you know what you're doing overclocked xeons is stable as any non overclocked setup out there, and much faster. an overclocked dual done properly outshines a non overclocked dual all things equal, simple as that.

@ juanP

That is a very nice build so far man, looks like you are using Kingstion Hyper X DDR3 1600 there, hmm interesting, is that 12x 2GB? as being not ECC and REg as non buffered memory, most 2CPU systems need ECC ,Reg and Fully Buffered when using Intel based setups :)

The blue heatsinks really stand out, this colorscheme really stands out, nice man!

Well I hope se more blue with this build, is there going to be blue, red and black case lighting?

Just a thought there.

Peace and Don't Panic.
