That's a great idea but, I seriously doubt that they would spend time writing a new BIOS for boards that are well past their EOL....ya never know though....sometimes wishes do come true.

i minor tweak to the memory code shouldn't be all that of a effort but its true it is EOL .

yup, it's EOL ... still if eVGA only wanted they could do that. I'd like to hear an official answer on this.

I think you guys would have a better shot at getting an update than I would XFX has not even put out a P10....P09 is the latest for my board.

just flash your XFX with eVGA P10 BIOS
those boards are same and BIOSes are interchangeable. you just need to use awdflash switch allowing to ignore part number mismatch. after flashing is done, every diagnostics program will detect your board as eVGA 790 Ultra

some people used to run XFX BIOS on eVGA boards and vice versa when looking for most stable BIOS for memory overclocking in past.

I have heard of folks doing that before but, it's working just fine like it is. If I start having issues after it is out of Warranty....I would possibly consider it.

I've found the solution for the error "the programs part number does not match with..."

Just look on internet and download AWD865
Then you will be able to have flash. (if you get an error when it just show up, just enter AWD865.exe, then enter the name of your bin file)

I still have freez on P10 and i'm back on P7 and still have problem with SSD drive Kingston HyperX

Everything seems to work fine except when I make a disk performance check with CrystalDiskMark
Any idea ?

I've found a check on a french forum with some overclocking options with P7, it increase performance and decrease freez but not problem with my SSD, and my standard diamondmax 250Gb had no problem before.

What can you recommand?

Hello.  I realize this is an old thread, but I have a question about the EVGA-790i-Ultra-NF79 motherboard.  It has a red SATA header near the center of the board which is a separate Jmicron PCIe SATA controller, but there is no identifying information about it in the manual and no driver for it on this site.  Microsoft Windows supports it using a generic AHCI driver, but I wonder if there is a specific driver that would better support it?  There are drivers on the JMicron site, but I need to identify the controller chip and I'm hoping someone here may know how.  TIA

Thanks for the reply.  Here is a screenshot of the motherboard from the manual where the red SATA connector is item #24.  There is an Enable/Disable entry in the BIOS that controls this SATA header labeled JMicron controller.  I'm currently booting from it and during POST there's a line identifying it as a PCIe SATA external drive controller.

The JMicron controller is a controller that is not native to the motherboard's nForce chipset so the BIOS will see and treat it as an external PCIe controller. It is connected to the chipset via a PCIe lane. This is the same for the newer motherboards with the Marvell controllers to give them more than the standard 6 SATA ports.

The Red SATA port on the board is run by a JMicron JMB362 SATA controller.  That same controller runs the the eSata connecter on the back I/O, and both will show up as eSATA when used.

Thanks for the reply and the additional info via PM.  I like knowing what I've actually got under the hood.
