Hello all. Am I reading this correctly the 3080 FTW3 Ultra queue is currently filling orders placed 9/22/2020? I’m quite late to the party lol. I’m 5/22/2021. I’m guessing 18 months plus to get to me? Thanks. By the way I’ve added my information to the tracker. Don’t you worry your pretty little head. Thanks for putting that together for us.

Currently i am seeing people letting their mining rigs to be sold.  It appears that the Eth mining rates are down.  i think by December, we might see a crash in crypto and frenzy selling of cards.

sure ok, even if that's true it doesn't mean the queue will move. i doubt they're going to ramp up production of the 3080s when people have shown their willingness to spend on the better binned cards. i'm happy to be wrong, but it doesn't make much business sense.

I doubt that will ramp up production of the 3080s as well.  The contract (with foundry - Samsung) has lapsed.  A new contract was already signed with them to product the current batch of 3080Tis and 3070Tis.  You wont see more first hand 3080s or 3070s.  But this batch of RTX 3080 Ti must be a big batch, any more slow down on the GPU market will impact all other revenue sources of components.  Not many pple will buy a new system without a discrete GPU.  Unless u using it for work.  I doubt Samsung will lower prices significantly for Nvidia.  Now is the time to earn for both parties.  Maybe thats the reason why the price increase of RTX 3080 (non-Ti) was kinda disgusting.  But given the circumstances (covid/mining/scalpers), i guess this is how capitalism works.

Sorry, but that analysis makes no sense. Contract renewals are a thing, and discontinuing two culled chip SKUs would be leaving way too much money on the table. The 3080 ti is only off from the 3090 by two SMs. The 3080 is off from the 3090 by 14 SMs AND a memory controller. In order to never produce another 3080, they'd have to have ridiculously good yield to never have more than two faulty SMs and NO faulty memory controllers on a GA102 wafer. The 3070 ti is a "perfect" GA104 chip, with the 3070 trailing behind by 2 SMs and the next available SKU being the 3060 ti with 10 less SMs compared to the 3070 ti. So you can build a comparison between GA102 and GA104 with 3090 > 3070 ti, 3080 ti > 3070, and 3080 > 3060 ti.
 
There's no realistic scenario in which NVIDIA will just dump all of its 3080 and 3060 ti chips due to some unreported yield improvement, nor is there a scenario in which they produce the 3080 ti and not the 3070 due to similar yield characteristics. Every one of those chips is worth orders of magnitude more than the silicon it's made from, and demand guarantees that every single one is sold as soon as it leaves the factory. NVIDIA will do all it can to maximize its profit margin to recoup its R&D, but they'll also do all they can to capitalize on maximum revenue. That means selling every passable piece of silicon that comes off the line, rather than hoping and waiting the next batch has better yields.

I will gladly pay extra and accept this though. That's for a 3967-KR, I'm so new I can't post links :).
 
I used Enewt's code, since I basically lived by his product queue and forum posts for 9 months.

That's the current product timestamp which I suspect is incorrect.  My notification is 7:44:20am and no notification has been sent yet according to EVGA.
