I feel like I'm probably at least a good 5 minutes past any queue times that will get notifies today but I guess we shall see...

Apparently, we're in the 6:11-12 timeframe now...

I don't know, but I think that might be optimistic.

I originally thought it was for my 3080 Ti.... still excited about getting the 3070 Ti as I need it for my streaming PC.
However I do not want to finish my gaming pc with it's custom water loop until I have the 3080 Ti being shipped.

Compare your autonotify timestamps (found here: https://www.evga.com/community/myNotifies.asp) against the applicable row in the EVGA Queue Summary (all of the foregoing for North America).  If EU, PM me or post and we can help you with that too.  Best of luck!

Not entirely unexpected, Jacob only said there would be more "this week".

Was reading a bunch yesterday regarding the chip shortage in general, and there's quite a few analysts saying it will ease up through the end of this year, be mostly resolved by next year, and that we're through the worst of it. The issues in Taiwan with the drought have mostly passed after a week of heavy rain and fortunately not caused the impact that was being prepared for, so that's another positive. There are some who are doom-and-gloom and saying it won't resolve until 2023, but I'll stay on the positive side.

If it's any consolation, expensive chips are being prioritized, because of course, profit. That's good (in a way) for us.

Honestly, I think our days of queue's and scalpers will not be over.

Technology has only been getting more and more advanced, more and more silicon placed into everyday objects.
The population of earth is increasing at an insane amount, increasing the demand for these products.
The Cryptocurrency market is here to stay, and they will always need more cards and burn through cards at a fast rate

As a company making a profit from 100 x 3090's, why limit themselves to 100, I will still make a profit with 120 3090's. 140, 160.... The same applies to the other SKU's. They introduced LHR, but all that does it increase the amount of work needed to produce a cryptocurrency coin, which lowers the supply, which increases demand and raises the price accordingly.

Then the fact that the GPU market isn't even going to satisfy the demand for the 3000 series. That means ll those people will then be waiting on the 4000 series with all the others who decided to wait as well. That will see a huge increase of demand at launch. Plus every card that a scalper buys, will sell for a profit so there is no harm is buying literally as many as possible every single release.

I believe the primary cause behind the shortage is crypto. Scalping is the side effect due to lack of supply as a result. Crypto mining makes a lot of money at scale, so of course all of the GPU's get sucked up. There are other causes, such as lack of capacity or resources, but from a GPU perspective, it's primarily crypto. The shortage started when all of the GPUs started getting hoarded 1-2 years ago for mining, and now people's video cards are getting old and games are becoming more demanding. The sheer number of cards being used for mining is why nothing is available because everyone now needs a better card, but the supply wasn't spread around. Other factors, like COVID and the aforementioned capacity/resources of course have an effect, but it's caused mainly by crypto.

LHR does have an effect, the cost of mining goes up, which can make it unprofitable.

Proof-of-Stake is the alternative, and is being discussed a great deal of late. That would massively reduce demand for GPU's. I'm certainly not well versed on the ins-and-outs of crypto, but the below article was useful/interesting.

Does anyone happen to have the date for last verified email sent for the 3080 XC3 Ultra? I know the date signed up was 9/18/20 but I wasn't sure when that person received the email.

The increase to the cost of mining may close down minor miners, but in economy if an item costs more to produce, the cost for that product increases. In the past the increase to produce a coin caused many issues as the price of the coin dropped profits dropped.
As the crypto-currency market solidifies itself, the mass producers of those coins will not just decide to sell their coin for a loss, and refuse to accept anything less than profit.

Proof and Stake just makes that even more of a reality. As the more coins you have, the more you will be able to produce. That will limit the amount of people producing coins, but drastically increase incentive to produce as much coins as possible. So the more card you have, the more you monopolize the market.

I'm not saying that this is how it will be, I'm just applying principles of economics to the current situation and the greed of humanity. Those are normally two things you can rely on.

The only way to counter this is by producing cards specifically for mining, which need to be more efficient at it per dollar than gaming cards. However there are so many minor coins that people hope will make it rich that they will take these gaming cards home to mine them anyway.

Best of luck.

I honestly would be scared that they are scaling down production of all models except the 3080 Ti, and 3070 Ti.

3080 Ti, uses the same silicon as the 3080 but they make a huge amount of profit margin more than selling a 3080. So why produce anymore 3080's, when the 3080 Ti is guaranteed to sell? The same applies to the 3070 Ti.

Does anyone have the link to that evga queue website where you can add your notify time etc? (the whole page is like a dark orange) Trying to look at it while at work, but having a hard time finding it through the forums haha.

You say that as they are currently sold out everywhere.... You can claim it is bad value but the alternative is nothing.

I don't claim it is bad value at all. The FTW3 version beats out a 3090 FE. I'm patiently awaiting my turn in the queue for either the hybrid or the air cooled.

I apologise, I mistook "undesirable" as a remark about it's value. It is still hard to call it undesirable, when it is currently sold out everywhere and likely will instantly sell out for months to come.

9:17am cant come up any faster for me. less then 8 minutes till i can finally buy a 3080!

3080 Ti are undesirable 3090 chips.

You say that as they are currently sold out everywhere.... You can claim it is bad value but the alternative is nothing.

I don't claim it is bad value at all. The FTW3 version beats out a 3090 FE. I'm patiently awaiting my turn in the queue for either the hybrid or the air cooled.

I need that 3080ti hybrid so I can rip out my 3090 FTW3 Ultra and install the hybrid on it and still be able to work/game and prospect mine

And purchased.

@enewt I used your code. Thanks for the effort you are putting in. Now you just need to magically make them send out more 3080Ti Hybrids. Cause that is what I really want. This is most likely ending up in my sons machine as he is still rocking a 780Ti SLI setup.
