Yep, they were reversed.  Status light works now.   Thanks yet again.
 
EVGAs community support (and regular support) is really head and shoulders above the rest.  Since I basically have a straight evga rig now I feel like I'm in good hands.  
 
Also, the bios update was the most stress-free bios update I have ever performed - so easy.  
 
If mods want to mark this solved feel free.  I'll update if anything happens.
