Downloaded Dungeon Siege 3 demo from Steam tonight June 8, 2011. Parts of the game will get very choppy framerate, but if I switch to single GPU mode everything is smooth. Using an EVGA GTX 295 FTW with the latest 275.33 driver in Vista 32. Most of the game is smooth in SLI, but you will notice at times the framerate will suddenly drop especially after speaking with an NPC in the game. Single GPU mode this does not happen. The EVGA Precision tool version 2.03 reports both GPUs are distributing the load evenly, but unfortunately it is not working well. Don't know if it's the driver or the game. Hope it gets fixed.

I have found if I minimize the game (alt-tab) and then restore it back (alt-tab) the sudden drop in framerate goes away as well after talking to Petru. So definitely a bit buggy.

    Solution for my SLI slowdown

Well I finally solved my problem and I hope it works for anyone else having SLI slowdowns in DS3. A very kind person over at the NVidia forums gave me the magic bullet for SLI compatibility with Dungeon Siege 3. He confirmed a SLI slowdown in the game. This solved it for me.

First download the wonderful NVidia SLI Profile Tool here:

    http://www.geeks3d.com/20100528/mana...-profile-tool/

    Run this tool and export.

Go to the txt file your export generated and open it.

Add this profile somewhere in there. I put it right after Dungeon Siege 2.

    Profile "Dungeon Siege III"
    ShowOn GeForce
    ProfileType Application
    Executable "dungeon siege iii.exe"
    Setting ID_0x0095def9 = 0x00000002
    Setting ID_0x1033cec1 = 0x00000003
    Setting ID_0x1033dcd2 = 0x00000004
    Setting ID_0x1057eb71 = 0x00000001 UserSpecified=true
    Setting ID_0x1095def8 = 0x00400405
    Setting ID_0x200aebfc = 0x00000000 UserSpecified=true
    EndProfile

If you already have a Dungeon Siege 3 just change line 9 so it reads 0x00400405 after the =

Now save the txt file and with the SLI Profile Tool import it back and run the game. My SLI slowdowns in DS3 went away after this.
