I just recently got a new RTX 2080 XC Gaming card and I'm run a dual monitor setup off of it, but running into an issue with the display ports. Ideally what I would like to do is run both my monitors (1080p monitors with HDMI connections) off of the display ports and my UHD TV off of the HDMI port. My issue though is that it seems like only 1 of the display ports is actually sending signal (the bottom DP is the only one that works). If I have just my monitors plugged in using DP to HDMI cables (I've checked the cables and both work fine) than only the monitor plugged into the bottom DP works and the other acts like there is no signal no matter which DP I plug into of the top 2 (the ones surrounding the HDMI port). What's even weirder is that both Windows 10 and the Nvidia control panel recognize a monitor plugged in but still no image appears. I've tried different DP port configurations with no luck. If I try to use the top 2 ports than I get nothing on both monitors. The only way I can see to get it working is to use the HDMI port and bottom DP port although than I have to annoyingly switch HDMI cables whenever I want to use my UHD TV. Is there something I'm missing with those top 2 DP's that would get them working?

Sounds like you'll need to rma the card.

Have you tried just one monitor and tested each DP port?

I'm currently running 3 monitors here in surround off of one 2080Ti until I can source a second card.  I'm using all 3 DP's with no issues.

After playing around with it even more last night I believe I found the issue. The back plate on the case I'm using was not siting nearly as flush as it should be so the cables even though they felt plugged in and even registered in Windows/Nvidia Control panel, they were not fully seated thus killing the signal. I got all the ports working however any time cables shifted even slightly the signal would go out. There is a little too much overlap of backplate and the top DP's that I need to correct.

Glad you found the issue!  On my 1080's I had a similar problem which I think was a manufacturer's defect.  The slightest movement with the DP male end that fit into the card and I'd lose signal.  I don't have that issue with these cards.

I'd ripe out a metal file or nail file and get to grinding some of that plastic down around that monitor cable so it can seat deeper into the port.

What resolution are your monitors, and would you mind sharing some fps benchmarks? I can't find anything on how the new cards perform on a surround setup.

Post #25 is my post and what I found was wrong. Cut part of the case so the DP cable would lock into the card.

This is probably what I would start with depending on how much I had to cut down and how much I spent on the case.

Great find. Thanks for posting. I had the same problem with my DP to HDMI cables not seating deep enough to lock in, but the felt like they were engaged well enough. Wasn't so. Moving my 2080TI to another slot resolved my issue. The topmost slot on my case had that top edge sheet metal protruding slightly, simply because of the way the case was manufactured where that top edge lays over the sheet metal piece that makes up the rest of the slots. Dropping the card down to where my SLI card went when I had Titans fixed the issue. I shouldn't need to cards any longer with this beast.
