Once you attract so many people to your social network where do you go from there? Discord is going to try game distribution. Can they compete with Steam? Only time will tell.
 
At first, the titles available in the service are:
  • Dead Cells
  • Frostpunk
  • Omensight
  • Into the Breach

  • The Banner Saga 3
  • Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
  • Hollow Knight
  • Moonlighter
  • This is the Police 2

As for their Nitro subscription service, the following games are available:

    I still don't understand discord. Is it like a message board with VOIP? That awful UI they have kills my desire to use it. Seriously the UI is atrocious and I have no idea why anyone would want to buy games or use games through it.

    It's not like a message board at all. It's a chat client with VOIP that's completely free, including full scripting support for literally every programming language. It's the best thing I have ever discovered. 
     
     
     
     
    That said... I don't like the idea of having to pay for nitro to get games that I have actually heard of. Hopefully this is just a beta.

    It tells me that Discord doesn't even know what it is and has a lack of clear direction. There is no incentive for anyone to buy anything from Discord.
