Sadly the season pass, loot box gambling, and horribly shallow multiplatform games make all that PC hardware irrelevant when what game developers are making is straight up garbage designed only to take advantage of terrible consumerism. I have a couple of anticipated PC games I'm looking forward to in 2018 and none of them are from the big multiplatform publishers. Although we have great technology on the PC, the games are devolving. You have entire once PC centric franchises that are a former husk of their lineage with developers refusing to support basic player controlled dedicated servers any longer. E-sports literally ruins games and turns them into a cesspool of manufactured hype. Look at how few options are available for EVGA game servers now for example.

TBH that industry website has no clue about gaming or PC gaming for that matter. It's all about revenue and the business which frankly is killing the enjoyment people once had.
