Issue happened on 4/25/2021 roughly 6 something PM. Got a new SSD, wanted to install it so I turned my pc off like usual. I plugged it in where I'm supposed to do then closed everything up. I tried turning it on, nothing happens, no fans moving, no beep, no LED, no nothing. I am extremely confused, but I think my PSU just died on me. All of my friend presumed to be an issue with dead/faulty PSU.

Spec:
MOBO - MSI B550 Tomahawk
GPU- NVIDIA 2070 super
RAM - Corsair 32gb (x4 RAM sticks)
Case - Fractal design C
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

Edit:
PSU was not the issue, paperclip method proved PSU is functional/healthy. I replaced the motherboard and my PC boots now. I apologize and appreciate people that have replied to this thread with solutions.

See How do I test my power supply? in the EVGA FAQs.

Disconnect the PSU connectors from everything and jump terminal 16 (PS-ON) to a ground terminal of the 24pin connector and it should turn on..If it don't turn on and the power cord is securely plugged in and has power, the PSU is no good.

Most of the EVGA PSU come with the power on self tester. I would unplug everything from the PSU and then try the power on self tester if it turns on then you know it's not the PSU. It might be worth making sure the SSD screws didn't touch the motherboard as some cases have them mounted opposite the motherboard on the side of the computer case.

Thank you, did the paper clip test and PSU does indeed work still, I now believe it might be the issues with my motherboard, which is in my opinion even more of an annoying issue.

The PSU supplies +5VSB (volt standby) to the mobo at all times whenever the PSU is plugged in/turned on..That 'keep alive' power is used by the motherboard to initialize startup whenever the Power Button on the case is pressed which connects the two Power Switch pins of the mobo JFP1 connector together (for as long as the switch is pressed)..If your mobo has a Standby LED, that should be lit when +5VSB is present..If your mobo has no Standby LED, you would need to check for +5VSB on pin 9 of the 24pin connector with a multimeter.

You can bypass the case Power Button by disconnecting it's connector from JFP1 and using something like a screwdriver to momentarily short the two Power Switch pins together and see if it starts, as it normally should.

You can connect only the 24pin connector to the mobo and see if it starts..Undo whatever you did before the problem..Plug things in one at a time and see if something makes the problem resurface.

If the PSU is putting out +5VSB and your PC don't start no matter what, then it would appear that the mobo went bad..But I would check all power/grounds on the 24pin connector when the PSU is on with the paper clip test..It's just a process of elimination.

You can buy an el cheapo digital multimeter that will do the job for $10 at big box stores, auto parts stores, Amazon.

As stupid as it sounds, double check the connections for your case power button on the mobo, it may have been bumped or become loose when you were putting the ssd in, that happened to me once.

double check the old mobo pins they could be bent and touching one another.
