ehabash1 what happens when you use dlss at native resolution? instead of a blurry upscale do i get a sharp super sampled image? I just say a DLSS video online for metro (great performance but blurry) and since i run sli im wondering if im better off simply using native res and then applying dlss
Mine is set to 2560 x 1440 No issues that I can see. Didn't look blurry...

10% performance boost. I thought NVidia was bragging that it should be much higher than that. Maybe the game has an FPS cap on right now.

Scarlet... Overall, when I ran the game itself, rather than the shooting range...I was getting 55-70 fps depending on scene with no DLSS. With DLSS the actual game itself increased to min 70 fps to as high as 105 fps. This one only one scene rendered that I caught.

dc8flyer I might be missing something simple, but DLSS is installed but I can't select it in BF5. I tried adjusting other menus but can never enable DLSS. Anyone else?
BFV DLSS patch won't work without installing GeForce 418.91 and rebooting
Well, I downloaded the BF5 patch first then 418.91 but that should not make a difference. I still cant access DLSS. HOWEVER---- my BF5 fps has dropped from 72 (half rate of 144 monitor) at Ultra settings all the way down to 11 fps. I played bf5 after the patch but before .91 and all was OK. Downloaded .91 played again and fps down to 11. Seems I battle nvidia and origin more than playing the game...... I'll uninstall .91 and hope the game is restored. Otherwise I was never able to access DLSS.
How are you connecting your card to the monitor? I am using Displayport. Wonder if that means anything?

I am trying to find the reviewers that have the fancy FPS monitoring software that gives the high, average, and lows, but I am not seeing them posted just yet. Maybe tonight or tomorrow.
Gamers Nexus did an in depth look of RTX in Metro exodus, and I am currently watching that right now. Will share the video in a second if there isn’t a thread already started about it.

Is it me or the first pic looks extremely better than the 2nd one ? So you are saying that when you have DLSS ON you lose image quality and gain performance? I can clearly see the image tearing or artifact of the 2nd image. Please look at it closely. What i expect of the new GEN of GPUs is to deliver an outstanding image quality and performance at the same time. Apparently this has not been the case.

The monitors, three DP. Reinstalled .81 but bf5 remained damaged. fps down to 11 at lowest and 28-35 at best. Prior to this 72 (half frame rate) and all ultra, now completely unplayable. I reinstalled .91 and no change - 11fps and DLSS still ghosted out. BF5 did this to my last card, a 2080xc and nothing fixed bf5's first update until I replaced the card with a 2080ti xc. Now that card is messed up after bf5 second update. This cant only be me. I'm going to restore my prior image but from experience with the last card once bf5, or nvidia driver, screws up the card restoring software has no effect. This is too much anymore. Is there someway to keep bf5 from pushing its updates?

I'm so lucky. IF YOU HAVE A 2080TI DO NOT DOWNLOAD BF5 OR NVIDIA UPDATES!! Looks like 3D Guru tests resulted in the exact same issue I'm experiencing. They could not get their 2080ti to enable DLSS either and ended up having to use a 2080 card for their test. No mention if their card is damaged in any way, yet. Still, I'm unable to run BF5 at all after these two updates. I'm restoring my drive from a prior image and hope it fixes this but I don't think once the RT sensors are corrupted they get fixed by reverting to prior software. I'll need a new card after this. https://www.guru3d.com/ne...idia-dlss-support.html

Yep. Ok so after checking around to see what's going on, it looks like the RTX 2080 Ti 1440p owners got the shaft by Nvidia. We can't fully utilize our GPUs in other words. I could have went with a RTX 2080 and saved a few hundred if I would have known this from the start. smh Way to drop the ball Nvidia. Source

Battlefield v with (DLSS) = equal slightly blurry right now at least that's how it looks to me, looks like you could turn the resolution scale down to 80% and get the same frames and same effect, i have a RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA, so I'm not trying to be a RTX / DLSS hater, just telling it like it is, i think DLSS looks slightly blurry to me,

My experience with BF5 DLSS: Been playing BF5 for ages on DX11 and could play for hours with no issues at all. 1st download driver 418.91 (was on previous one before) 2nd auto update BF5 with the new patch. 3rd restart computer. 4th go into BF5 settings and DX12 to on with DXR and DLSS to on. 5th restart game as required. Now I have an unstable game. Try running game and would start but then crash to desktop in about a minute and did this on first 2 attempts. 3rd attempt I got into a game and had a full round of conquest. After match ends goes to summary screen and then crash to desktop. Oh well....back to DX11. Game is stable again after several matches. Only thing I didn't do was run DDU before installing latest driver. Suppose I could try that but BF5 is stable again on DX11. Good luck everybody! Oh and they messed around with the netcode for those you know, high pingers with crappy systems so things are 'equal' in the 'PC' world, pun freakin intended. Prepatch my shots and everything else was on point. I was all excited till I really got a full scoop of it. What a dumpster fire this has turned out to be outside of the increased FPS performance but I'm noticing a few jagged edges from the reflections. Bring back the original netcode!

This is getting beyond belief! Not only has Origin/Nvidia screwed up my desktop, now BF5 will not work on the laptop. Every other game not using RT works but everything associated with nvidia/origin crashes immediately after selecting BF5 on both laptop and desktop. This is a cluster that started back in November 2018 and has increased in member size ever since. More and more people are losing the ability to use the RTX cards and BF5 with every freak'n force update. Now I'm getting this crap on the desktop. Anyone know what this broken English means? Besides the lack of intelligent wording I can't make any rational sense of Origin/Nvidia has done to two brand new cards with their forced updates. When the folks at 3D Guru have issues perhaps someone at these two companies need to take notice. Stop pushing this crap on us until you get it right. But now the damage is done and this needs to be addressed soon and not continuously ignored. This update failure is just incredibly incompetent and spreading.

TechPowerUp DLSS at 1080p is only available on RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 (not RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti). DLSS at 1440p is available on all RTX cards except for RTX 2080 Ti, and at 4K, all cards can run DLSS. This is somewhat surprising as we can think of many scenarios where people would want to have higher frame rates at lower resolutions to, for example, drive 144 Hz monitors.
Have an 2080ti and 1440p/144hz... yeah, better upgrade to a 4k monitor so they can use DLSS to render at 1440p then upscale back to 4k. Have 1440p and a 2080... no problem, they can render that at 1080p and upscale back to 1440p. “But I have a 2080ti and want to use 1440p and get closer to 144hz with DLSS.” -consumers “Womp womp, sad face.” -Dice/NVidia.

dc8flyer This is getting beyond belief!
Your issue would appear to be linked to using -unsupported- RTX display resolutions and then tripping Origins (Nvidia DLSS rendering files?) activation limits. RTX cards are very nice, but the real truth about their current TRUE performance levels cannot be ignored, and Nvidia's attempts at "proving" RTX performance increases have now reached completely ridiculous levels. Downsampling with pre made-rendering data = fake performance increases.... The charts posted about "supported" resolutions, are all about Nvidia's "pre made-post-rendering data" for the tensor cores. The facts remain, the RTX performance levels are --what they are-- and no amount of outright lying to everyone can change that. -->The Nvidia tensor cores are completely worthless in todays game engines and will remain so for years. And while RT is certainly the future, the future is still a long way off as -proven- by the current performance levels of this generation of cards.

Pretty freakin much. Can you believe this, on top of the botched netcode. Way to punish those that spent $1000+ for their 1440p/144Hz experience. Mind boggling is an understatement at this point and within forum TOS standards. Everything I've gone through and the money spent, I feel like I've jumped into the worst GPU upgrade of all time. Holy freakin smokes....lol I don't know if I should cry, laugh or both!
