Hi, I want to convert my 1080 TI SC2 Hybrid back to just Air Cooled. Is there anyone that has done the SC2 Air to Hybrid conversion that would be interested in selling the parts that I would need to convert back to Air cooled. Thanks

Why not sell the card and then buy a normal air cooled card?

Or see if anyone is willing to swap their card for yours

Hi, Thanks, yes my first option would be to mod it back to air cooled as I would still like the option to go back to liquid cooled if needed in future. It is just that I want to move the card to my smaller media pc.

Dont see how someone will want to sell off there stick cooler to loose there warranty with there card.
So with that in mind prob only chance you have is to either find someone with a damaged card they want to sell for parts that was voided of warranty claim cause they damaged the card...or dont know better and upgraded theres with a hybrid cooler.
Easier would be to see if theres a 3rd party cooler that fits the card.. or evga themselves would sell you a cooler..
I'd say sell the card or just use it in the media pc. Atleast it would be quieter then an aired cooled card.

Thanks, that RAIJINTEK MORPHEUS II looks like it will work well. Am I right if I say, it looks like I will be able to keep the stock SC2 VRM heatsink and fan, and just add heatsinks to the memory and the RAIJINTEK MORPHEUS II to the GPU?

After-market air coolers "big", particularly after adding two 120 fans. Since you "want to move the card to my smaller media pc" you should make some careful measurements before ordering. I tried the Morpheus II core edition on a Titan Xp and could not get sufficient contact on the processor to cool it. There's another thread on the forum where someone had to do a mod to get it to cool. I'll try to search for the thread and edit this one with a link if I find it.

You may be able to keep the vrm heatsink, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to remove the stock fan.

I converted my Hybrid to air with the Morpheus II, much quieter (with the same fans) due to no pump noise or dinky 80mm VRM fan noise. GPU temps are just as good, but memory/VRM temps are up a bit, partly due because the Power fan header doesn't give 100% PWM and is limiting fan speed on already slow fans. I reused the VRM heatsink but installed the supplied memory heatsinks.

BullyApCI posted the results of switching my SC2 to the Rajintek cooler. https://forums.evga.com/1080Ti-SC2-Black-Edition-with-Custom-Back-Plate-and-RajinTek-Morpheus-II-m2835700.aspx#2837336 While the results were amazing, the system is by no means "small." In fact, it is huge! You should make sure your media pc has the room. I would be more than happy to help you with measurements and information. PM me.
Thanks BullyApC, That's the link I was looking for. You said, "After receiving the Morpheus and a lot of failed attempts at mounting it, I finally got it to make good contact with the GPU and was able to start bench marking its performance." How did you finally get it to make good contact?

so that is a great question... I C in your picks that you kept the stock back plate. I also got mine to fit with the stock plate however, I had to purchase new 2 mm bots. I was not able to use the stock supplied bolts. I used a washer, mint lock washer and a 2X7mm bolt. Once I switched to the 7mm long bolt, everything was fixed. I have since switched to an EKWB back plate, I got it off eBay for less than $6. The EKWB back plate helped me achieve even greater cooling, see my post for pics of the EK plate on my Morph set up.

For my setup I used some washers to "bridge" the space between the supplied spring screws and the stock backplate, leaving out the supplied X plate. Your custom backplate thermal results are amazing!
