If I wanted to is it possible to take some parts off of my 3070 ti and put them in color and put them back to have a colorful design.

If you use something like Plasti Dip that can be removed in case your card has an issue and you need to send it in for warranty as the card needs to be returned in factory condition. Note: even though Plasti Dip will peel off, it may still leave a residue that you may not be able to remove and EVGA could refuse the warranty for that.

Warranty will go down. I think.

Not if he can return it in factory condition.

I think almost every 30 series GPU comes with a metal backplate. So you can disassemble it and paint it, but probably you can say bye-bye to warranty.

I mean you can paint it but you better be careful. I looked into it and the warranty stays intact if you keep it in its factory condition. I doubt you can do that by painting it though lol. I wouldn't recommend it if you're not experienced.

YOU can 3d print shroud covers for gpu's. If you had a 3d printer. I've made them to cover the 1080 ti because I wanted a white shroud. Snap on fit.. if you dont have a 3d printer... you can commission someone to make one for you at a price.

That is sweet work man, I never look in my PC it is on the floor at the back of my desk. But I can say that is a very awesome look. I could careless about lights and such but art is art.

Haven't pulled apart an FTW as of yet, but the XC3 cards can have their shrouds and backplate removed without pulling the heatsink off.

I wouldn't risk it... since they are so hard to find and you might break it.

I'm surprised more people don't go this route. I've had a bunch of things printed through treatstock before, and it's really reasonable. I'd design my own, but not 100% sure how to start going about it.

I just used Plasti-dip for my shroud, since it's easily removeable. I didn't do the backplate being that my GPU is vertically mounted, and it would have been much more of a hassle. The shroud part is super simple, though.

Has it had any impact on your GPU temps? I know it's debatable how much backplates do in terms of heat dissipation (if any), so I'm curious what your experience has been.

No, zero at all since I only painted the front shroud and not the backplate. I've looked into it though, and it seems the temperature difference is negligible. Same when you paint Motherboard Heatsinks. In the few instances I've seen where people have reported temp increases, it's been such a small amount that's it's pretty much irrelevant.

No, painting things does not affect its heat performance.  Painting radiator fins can slightly impact it as too thick of paint can insulate, but even then it's very small.  Active cooled components, paint color doesn't matter.  For strict radiated surfaces, black emits the most heat, but in active with forced air it's completely moot.

Warranty will be a bye bye, but just be careful if it does work out, please comment about it and let us know.

But by painting the card you would lose warranty right? I mean you can't ship it back in factory condition unless you get spare parts that have the original design.

Is there anywhere where an original EVGA 3070Ti FTW3 shroud can be found that is 3d printable by chance? Would love to have one to customize and have the original safely tucked away for warranty purposes.

IIRC I have also seen custom backplates sold on sites like etsy. You can remove the factory backplate and keep for warranty purposes.
