The power "cpu" power cable does not appear to be compatible with my Z390 Gigabyte Aorus Ultra CPU header.

(S=square A=angled corner)

This is the Mobo header, catch tab down.

S-A-A-S
A-S-S-A

This is the cable on the mobo side.
The left side split of the cable does not match the header.

Left)  A-A    Right)  A-S
         A-A               S-A

The right cable is the only one that match up.
What about the cable on the left half of the CPU header?

PSU - is it fully Modular ?

Is it possible you reversed the CPU plug at the PSU ?

Looks like it should still plug in just fine.  The thing which will keep it from plugging in is if you try to plug a square plug into an angled hole.  I don't see that you will have that problem.

For various compatibility reasons, it isn't too uncommon for the shapes to be different.  The only thing which really matters is that the shapes used prevent an 8-pin (6+2) PCI-E power connection from being plugged into a CPU's 8-pin (4+4) power connector, and vice versa.  In your case, it looks like you are good to go.

So, when you plug it into the CPU header, it works fine, right?
