So this will be my first water cooled systems with some custom work. I have been building PC's a longtime just never custom or water. I fell in love with Case Labs Mercury S8 and that started the downward spiral of my checking account, thanks a lot Case Labs! :)
I will update this post with the stuff in the bags and more shots. I want to try to do a detailed log with photos and possibly video along the way. I am in my final stages o deciding on the fan controlling. I originally wanted to use the ROG Front Base as you see in the picture but i don't think that is going to work with the 22 fans ill be using. So any suggestions on fan control for 21 sp120 quiet edition fans and one 140mm corsair quiet fan feel free to post up any suggestions. I am also currently going to initially guid with Corsair Vengeance
Pro 4x4gb 1600 ram. I think before it is said and done I will obtain Corsair Dominator GT ram and use some EK blocks for the ram.
Here is the first list of main components and will update the fittings and other stuff later.

Thats going to be one serious WC Build for sure...couple of things:
    1. Being a Mariner I name all my builds after Navigational Stars - ie Capella, Rigel, Vega..Procyon etc ;)
    2. Stick to that C$%^*#r Ax1500i PSU...best out there by far!!!
    3. I'm running 16 Fans off of a Lamptron FC9 Fan Controller...its a beats with 50w per 4 Channels (200W total)...no fancy lights n crap..no knobs..nice smooth sliders....no problem running 7 Fans on my Quad Radiator (also SP quiets) on a single Channel.
    4. There reaches a point where there is no more cooling gain by adding more Rads...you'll be running 120.11...thats plenty...the only think I may have considered would have been thicker Rads...I reallyl ike the looks of the EK PE Series, but the performance of the new XSPC RX ver 3 Rads was too hard to pass up..but they are 56mm thick...I can "just" get push / pull on the sucker on the top of my 900D!!

Post lots of pics, I'm particularly curious how that RIVBE All in one Mobo / CPU Block work out ;) Should cut way down on fittings!!

Personally I'd stay away from introducing Dye into those awesome Parts...I'd stick to clear coolant and colored tubes...

That is a mighty build project you have there. You may want to test everything before putting it under water.

Thank you for all the great information rjbarker.

thanks for the compliments and encouragement everyone.

I have the system running on air now for a week.  I actually have lower temps on air with three cards than I did with two. I assume because less of a load on the cards.

Am starting the caselabs build tonight, yay!

An update from last night and today.
    The Mercury S8 unpacked :)

    The bottom unpacked.: :(

Robogrip pliers and got this. I did not realize till later in the build just straightening was not enough as there bend tab was pushed back about 5-8mm. I had to wiggle and pull to get the screw hold to line up:
    [
    AH, now we are talking:

    C R A P ! ! ! !

another bend and pull and it came together. A few small scare under the scenes that aren't visible when the skin is on.

The case is VERY nice and amazing how quickly and easily it comes together to make a EXTREMELY sturdy design. I will write up more of my thoughts on Caselabs as i go and more thoughts on the case and features soon.

Ok so my D800e is at Nikon getting its annual clean, adjust and tuneup. So i am using my d600 and it is riddled with sensor spots from the shutter recall. So i cleaned up these the best i could and will reshoot some better high res shots when he my d800e gets back.
Many shots of the parts before installation.
    My new pr0n:
    The Mercury s8

Yeah, had to have been bent in shipping. Case labs already contacted me wanting my order number and wants to send replacement parts. I didn't even contact them I posted on another forum.
The mercury s8 only has room for 360 rads, but you can fit 4 of them if you want.

If anyone has name suggestions I have my ears open :) As well as fan control..

    Thanks

Use the built in MB fan control. All you need is an Akasa pwm splitter or 2(Each splitter can link up to 5 fans for one pwm header) that takes power direct from the PSU.

I have 3 Alaska 5 way splitter powered by SATA power. When I hook up 5 corsair pwm fans they run full speed and can't control them. Apparently corsair pwm controller doesn't play nice when you get above 3-4 fans. I swear my maximus formula vi was able to control them but my RIVEBE can't. Apparently this is the case with all RIVEBE boards on the pwm headers.

If I knew this or did more research I wouldn't have bought all these fans and went another route.

^^^^ Forget about the Mobo and Bios controlling that many Fans (assuming you're planning 15 - 20 total Fans)...at this level get yourself a decent Fan Controller and take control of them manually...!.....keep it simple by keeping it isolated from your Mobo completely.
    Like these....

    http://www.ncix.com/detai...ay-4-9c-60127-1056.htm

Also some nicer higher end Controllers...Control Fans and monitor RPM and Coolant Temps.

Nothing in Evga's PSU line will rival that 1500i....that is an awesome PSU you have...best of the best...!!

^^^ Yeah with that many Fans I wouldnt fvck around with Mobo Headers and Bios Auto settings..pita imho.....the FC9 would be fine as its 50W per channel and has very good "passive cooling" on the backside....
That other link I sent for Daz mode's shop also has some even more capable and high end Controllers, I'm sure forzen would have em as well.....
I just wanted the ability to manually control them, I wasnt at all into setting up numerous heat probes and PWM Sensor' to Mobo (some Fan Controllers you run all these additional cables to Mobo to monitor both Temps and RPM)......

As they're PWM Fans let me know what you used for Splitters....I think that Swiftech PWM Fan Manifold may work, obviously you dont need the molex power cable plugged in as there is ample power from the Fan Controller.....it really is a bit of a pain I foound running splitters off so many PWM Fans, but found a way to make it work ;)

Be sure to get some more pics up.....love your parts list man...right up my alley...cant wait to see some Benchmarks for that Tri SLi Kingpin set up.....you planning on Flashing the Bios on those Cards or do they come with voltage unlocked out of the box?

    Cheers

After much debate and test fitting and as much as I didn't want to I had to order a extended top and standard size motherboard tray from caselabs. So hopefully by the end of next week I can start the installation of parts.

    Other updates/changes:

After ordering tons of compression fittings, primo chill advanced tube I decided to do acrylic. I really tried visualizing this build in my head and started ordering stuff couple weeks before my case made it here. So after my test fitting and analyzing (over analyzing at that) the tubing runs would be to long and droopy in the s8. That and I figured a build like this deserves me trying to do acrylic.

So my monsoon heat gun and monsoon acrylic bending kit, many many tubes of acrylic, 36 acrylic ek fittings, more 90 fittings came in today. But can't do much till the new motherboard tray gets here.

AND after hours of research and pulling my hair out I decided to bite the bullet and order the ek monarch ram coolers and clean tops. I'm replacing the vengeance pro ram with some corsair gt ram.

AND many more hours of research I finally decided on the Aquaero 6xt fan controller, flow meter, temp sensor, black heatsink and black face plate.

    Ugh :(

Pathfindercod, very impressive collection of parts. I'm in the process of collecting parts for a similar build. Only real difference is I went with a white exterior and pedestal. I'm very interested in seeing how this build works out. Those EK waterblocks are gorgeous. After seeing your photos I kind of wish I went that route. I went with XSPC Razors for my 780Ti Sli setup. What color are you going with for your rigid tubing? I'm going to try painting mine a marbleized purple & silver. Best of luck with this, can't wait to see how it ends up.

That's the nice thing bout Caselabs........its 100% modular and upgradeable, so if something doesn't work, you can at least order in the parts that will aloow the project to continue to YOUR specifications. My next build will feature one of these bad boys.

Can you tell me why you decided to go with the standard size motherboard tray? I have the same motherboard, & I chose the larger tray so not to have the board hang over the tray. Did you run into a problem? I haven't tried mounting the board in the case yet. I've got it running in another case for the time being. I've been having to modify the case to accept some of the water cooling parts, so I haven't mounted any hardware yet.
