I'm at 4.6ghz and doing Prime95 and my CPU fan is only 1100RPM (Havik 140) and it's reporting only 65°C

Is my heat sensor broken or is my cooling just really good?

The wierd thing is as soon as I stop Prime95 temps go to 35°C almost instantly

what vcore are you using for 4.6GHz? what does RealTemp say about max core temps throughout the test? what temps do you get with Intel Burn Test 2.54?

nice that is low vcore for 4.6GHz.

try IBT and set it for Maximum Stress mode and 3 rounds, see how far it takes the core temps during the second and third round (after stuff is heat soaked).
so far looking great, you must have been lucky with the TIM under IHS (I wasn't ... twice!).

if it's stable under IBT in Max mode for 10-20 rounds then the last thing to check is look into Event Logs - Custom Views - Administrative events and make sure there is no WHEA warnings, if none then I personally consider it rock solid stable.
If you see WHEA warnings however then the overclock is unstable (borderline) and you will need to increase the vcore until WHEA warnings are gone.

Haha if only that 42°C was true!

Oh and my mistake my Vcore is 1.288

The temperatures appear to be appropriate now, I downclocked to 4.3ghz and 1.15V so I get 70C max again (I just got the processor I dont want it frying on me!)

4.6GHz produced 90-98-96-93 under prime95 ...  yeah that sounds prety much about right for an ivy bridge on air cooling ...

AI Suite gives me wrong cpu temps as well...

    1.28 @ 4.6?? That's great, mine required around 1.32-1.35 for 4.7.
