Hi all,
Brand new EVGA crashing my computer while playing games. I have updated the ASUS MAXIMUS X HERO WI-FI AC to the latest BIOS. My computer was running fine when I had the Asus 1080ti, no crashes. I'm planning on logging temperatures of my CPU, GPU, MB, etc... while playing games to find the culprit.

This is my PSU
CORSAIR 850W HXI 80+P FM ATX PSU

Anything else I need to do to troubleshoot this? Why is my computer crashing?

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers to the most recent available from NVidia?

Check for high temps like you said, and make sure you uninstalled GPU Tweak II if you used it.

Grab the latest (Standard) NVIDIA Graphics Driver (like the_Scarlet_one said) and DDU..Run DDU in Windows Safe Mode to uninstall the current NVIDIA Driver and optional driver components, then install the latest driver using the Custom (Advanced) option to install only the Driver and PhysX.

Uninstall EVGA Precision X1 if you use it.

Try using two seperate 8pin (6+2pin) cables from the HX850i to the card if you aren't already..Put the HX850i into Single-Rail Mode with Corsair Link or iCUE software if it isn't already.

Try the card in another compatible system if you can, or take it to a PC shop for testing, or Contact EVGA about it.

Just a few more things here.

Thank you guys for the quick response.
I will follow bob steps outlined above. What do you mean by Standard nVidia Graphic Driver? The only two types I can download from nVidia are the GRD and the SD.
I do have Precision X1 installed but I don't use it. So I will uninstall it.
I think I'm using two separate 8pin but I will double check.
I will put the HX850i on single-rail.

If you have the choice to download the "Standard" or the "DCH" video driver in the "Beta and Older Drivers" downloads, go with the Standard.

Bob,
My GPU power connectors are currently connected to a single cable. From what I understood while researching this:
Single cable == single-rail mode
Two cables == multi-rail mode

I was having crashes because I had this
Single cable !== Multi-rail mode

Am I correct?

2080Ti --> Each socket on the GPU ---> should be connected to a separate output on the PSU with its own PCIe wire harness [this is Best Practice]

Single rail PSU ... just means the user does Not have to balance the load, by moving connected items

I will install two separate cables as per your instructions. Should I stay on single-rail mode or switch back to multi?

Done, I will monitor and let you guys know.
Another question, is there a difference in using 8pin (6+2) vs 8pin for the GPU? I'm trying to buy the sleeve extension for the GPU. What would you guys recommend.
Thank you.

the 6+2 exists because some GPU only need a 6-pin & others need the 8-pin

I go with which ever is cheaper & available ... no one will see the difference anyways

I found these two cables in my PSU box. I'm confused, the cable showing on the right, is labeled CPU and notice it has no empty pin. The cable on the left is labeled PCIe and has an empty pin. Can I use the one labeled CPU for my GPU connection?

No, you can't. They have different keys and different contact layout.
