I recently bought an EVGA 2080ti XC ULTRA about 3 days ago.
I was a bit worried that maybe my new card is faulty as i have heard so many have failed, so i decided to download a popular stress test 'Blender Benchmark'.
When i run it with my 2080 ti and select - quick test with the 2080 selected, it fails instantly with both tests saying crashed.
However, if i shut down my computer and switch out for my old Asus Strix 1080, it works perfectly as expected.
I have switched them both 5 times now and it is 100% consistant.
I have passed 3dmark benchmarks/heaven without any issues.
I have noticed that i had battlefield V crash once, i also was testing a few vr applications that said there wasnt enough gpu memory available. Today i turned on my computer and it didnt post until i rebooted it. Other then those isolated instances i have had no issues and no visible artifacts when gaming in battlefield v/fortnite.

Does the Blender Benchmark work for any of you with 2080 ti? Here is the download link(copy and paste): opendata.blender.org

Any ideas why this may be happening? Or what i can do to further test/narrow down the exact issue?
My plan is to run heaven benchmark on loop overnight and see what happens.

Thanks

Must be a problem with the benchmark as it crashes for me too.

    2.7 or 2.8 or Blender Benchmark 1.0 Beta2 Windows 64
They may need to update their OpenCL code to support the 4xx.xx Drivers.

Is the Benchmark Failing on the CPU Run as well as the GPU Run.

Barbershop Crashes on the GTX 1080 Ti Cards as well.
Though it is a CPU run with any OC on the GPU it will crash.
Also make sure you Exit PXOC or PX1 before you start the Benchmark.

    CPU run works fine
Latest drivers - 1080 - GPU benchmark works
Latest drivers - 2080 ti - GPU benchmark fails

If OpenCL code needs to be updated to support latest drivers, then why does it work with 1080 on the same driver that it doesnt work on the 2080 ti?

I mean, i think you might be onto something im just curious how that goes.

And would love more people to test the benchmark to confirm

CPU seems fine it is only the Complete Run that Fails on the GPU or only running the GPU the CPU runs fine.
I am using Driver 390.65 on the GTX 1080 Ti and Driver 417.01 on the RTX 2080 Ti Cards.
But this question and issue should be asked or posted over on Blender website.
There was a big change in the 4xx.xx Drivers that makes me think that they need to do some OpenCL Code Changes
Geforce Drivers 4xx.xx Drop more than 2/3 OpenCL Performance from the 3xx.xx Drivers Go to the End of the Thread.

The Full Benchmark is over an Hour Long so not many would want to run it.
Running only the GPU Quick Run is quick but no real detail of any help to an end user IMO.

There are two options - full benchmark or quick benchmark.
Using driver 417.35 with 1080 - all pass
Using driver 417.35 with 2080ti - all fail

Maybe you could test again using the same driver for both cards?

Correct and I did run all three Tests and spent over 2 hours doing so.
But you cannot install a 3xx.xx Driver on the RTX Platform and do not run 4xx.xx Drivers on the GTX Platform ATM.
Why is this so important for you, I am willing to test more but need to see the Need.
I do not run Blender nor has anyone posted about it here on the Forums.
Well what card to use for blender?  2010 Blender 2.49_First Blend 2009 Blender behavior normal? 2018
Selection Problem with Blender 2.49b after Change of GraphicsCard 2016
Have you asked about this on Blender and if so post the link if not you should be asking them about the RTX Platform issue.
But on their website they do show the RTX 2080 Ti on their Charts.

Update as of Dec 3rd 2018:
As of today, the master branch of Blender natively supports NVIDIA RTX cards. So you don't have to follow the steps below anymore.
But this does not apply to the Benchmark software they have.
