From time to time I'll get black flashing bar on 1 or both monitor (acer x34 and qnix 27"). I have been using that setup for a long time with a gtx 1080 founder and never had any problems. Now it goes from the occasional black bar flash to screen jumping, like it takes part of the image then shift it in the screen. Those last few ms and are hard to reproduce to help trouble shooting.

The QNIX monitor are cheap Korean monitor that don't have converter (or something like that) and only support DVI. So I'm using a DP to DVI adapter that people claim works well for those Korean Panel (). I don't think I saw those bar when using the X34 alone while waiting for the  adapter.

When the bar/skip effect start, the only way to stop it is to close and restart the monitor.

And the adapter that came with the card is so bad I couldn't use it.

Uncheck Show FCAT Overlay in PX1 under Settings if Checked.
Is that image a Bar on the Monitor or displaying Full Screen?
Are all your Cable VESA Certified?
Are you using an adaptor on one of the Monitors?
"And the adapter that came with the card is so bad I couldn't use it." Maybe time for some new Monitors.

Sounds like faulty cables/adapters to me. Maybe even a faulty monitor.

What are vesa cable? would a "certified" cable make any difference?

Like mentioned, I have to use an adapter for DVI since the RTX does not have an port and the QNIX monitors only has that port.

The black bar take the full width of the screen but only about 10-30% of the bottom portion

Is it an "Active DVI adapter" ?

What is the difference between a passive and active DisplayPort converter?

    (excerpt)

If you want to use multiple monitors with the same computer, you should use an active adapter because some video cards cannot run the maximum number of monitors while using DP++. This is especially true if the computer has more than one DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort connection. Check with your video card manufacturer to confirm which type of adapter you need for the setup that you would like to run.

Yes, certified can make a Big difference.  Not all cables follow the approved Standards

There are no vesa certified dvi cables. You just need a high quality adapter as you're most likely using a cheap one that is causing the issue.

Here are some good quality adapters...

I have this same problem with my 2080Ti XC. A black bar the length of the monitor flashes on the upper half for about less than half a second on the screen. My image is still fine though. The card is running 2 monitors. Display port to my dell s2417dg (main monitor) and the HDMI to DVI converter that came with the card to an Acer gn246hl. However I only see this problem when I'm in game in Rainbow 6 and it only happens on my main monitor.
