What I have found new and Nice is this new setting "Run daemon".
What I like about this new Feature is I can install the Client Software on a computer that I do not run any tasks on but manage other BOINC Computers.
Nice for Remote Management.

    What effect does daemon have?

    Mostly what I posted in the first post.
    If you un-check it when you start up the Client Tool it will not connect and start.
    What I like about is that you can use a computer that you do not run BOINC on to manage other computer that do.
