Confirmed bug. Start from 1.15, flash to 2.01 using 12400/12500 CPU (no E-cores). Once booted into bios, there is no "atom ratio" option. Place 13th K series CPU into slot. Reset CMOS. Still, no "atom ratio" control. BIOS 2.01 must be re-flashed in order for atom ratio to enabled.

Never have I ever seen this type of behavior where there is a type of "memory" even after CMOS reset.

This sounds like the BUG I experienced when I was tooling around with disabling P cores to test gaming performance on 1 P core with all E cores enabled on 13900K. Don't ask why lol, but just experiementing to see how powerful they really are. I also overclocked them with by core usage. When I went back to default P cores enabled, I no longer had more than a single E core ratio available. Even a CMOS clear did not bring the options back/restore all E core ratio tuning. What fixed it for me was loading an old profile. Such a strange behavior. CMOS clear should have fixed the issue.

That's hilarious, I wish atom cores were useful for gaming but only in limited scenarios are they powerful enough. XD

I’m confused why people flashed the …raptor lake launch bios to use with their alder lake chips? This was not recommended. Seems like you knew the risk and did it anyway?

1.15 or even older revs are stable and have been for months on alder lake.

Because bios flashback isn't a standard way to flash bios. I didn't flash it to use with alder lake. I upgraded.

I knew the risk and did it anyway (12900k).  But, in my scenario, I've run into no ill effects. . . only positives (better ram stability namely).  I'm not missing atom cores or any other settings I normally use, USB seems to be working fine, my CPU OC is holding solid, RAM at XMP was solid, RAM at default clock but tighter timings is also solid.  Feel bad for the folks having issues, but this bios is the happiest I've been with this board.  One thing I did that others may not have is I manually flashed the latest ME after the bios update.  Not sure if that's a direct correlation or not.

Working on a new PC build and for the life of me cannot get any display output. Curious if anyone else with a similar build has ran into this and found a work around?

Build:
    mobo: EVGA Z690 DARK K|NGP|N (121-AL-E699-KR)
    cpu: Intel i7-13700k (BX8071513700K)
    cpu cooler: Noctua NH-D15 (NH-D15 CH.BK)
gpu: RTX 3080 (Not sure model number, GPU is from a Dell Alienware Aurora R11)
    ram: 2x32GB ‎Corsair Vengeance (CMK64GX5M2B5200C40)
    drive: WD_BLACK SN850X (WDS200T2X0E)
    PSU: EVGA Supernova 1200 P2 80+ Platinum (220-P2-1200-X1)
case: fractal design torrent black (FD-C-TOR1A-01)
Primary Display: LG C2 42-inch evo OLED TV (OLED42C2PUA)
Secondary Display: LG UltraGear 4K UHD Nano IPS (27GN950)

Issue:
PC powers on and appears to boot without any issues. No POST Beep codes and no AMI POST Codes on Debug LED. No signal detected on primary or secondary display.

Troubleshooting steps already taken:
    1. Updated BIOS to 2.01 using the method "Flashing the BIOS Without a CPU" from the EVGA Z690 DARK K|NGP|N user guide ( BIOS appeared to update then PC rebooted after 4-5 minutes. No change in issue.
    2. Rebooted PC with only primary display connected (HDMI) to GPU. No change in issue.
    3. Rebooted PC with only secondary display connected (Displayport) to GPU. No change in issue.
    4. Downgraded BIOS to 2.00 using the same method as above. BIOS appeared to update then PC rebooted after 4-5 minutes. No change in issue.
    5. Re-Updated BIOS to 2.01
    6. Checked and re-seated all power cables
    7. Installed NVMe drive with Windows 11 installed to see if PC would boot to windows and have display output. Also tried a Windows 11 USB installation media. No change in issue. Tried this after reading a posts from people saying they could not see display output for BIOS but could for Windows.
    8. Verified "PCIe Disable Switches" were all set to On. According to the user guide the default position is On (left) and to disable a specific slot move the switch to the right.
    9. Switched "BIOS Selector Switch" from BIOS1 to BIOS2 and performed another BIOS update to 2.01. No change in issue.
    10. Moved GPU from top PCIe slot to bottom PCIe slot. No change in issue.
    11. Removed GPU from PC and tried using a Belkin Multiport USB-C Display Adapter (‎AVC003btBK) plugged into the mobo usb-c port. An attempt to try and get igpu display output. Tried both primary (HDMI) and secondary displays (Displayport). No change in issue. Had low confidence this would work but was willing to try anything. Interesting side effect of having this display adapter plugged into the mobo usb-c is that the mobo stopped responding to the power on button (case or motherboard power on button). Unplugging the usb-c display adapter resolved this issue...was able to replicate this consistently.

Misc:
Noticed when updating BIOS I would sometimes get a random number on the AMI Post Codes Debug LED after the update completed and the PC automatically rebooted. None of the numbers displayed match any of the AMI POST Codes listed in the user manual. Numbers observed include 0.6, 1.1, 1.2, and 1.5). After powering down the PC and powering it on again the number would not appear again on the POST Debug LED.

LED on mouse lights up when PC is powered on but get no LED on keyboard. Swapped USB ports mouse and keyboard were plugged into but no change. Potential issue with keyboard not being recognized...but difficult to say with no display output.

Next Steps:
At this point I'm assuming the issue is with EVGA's mobo bios firmware. Only other troubleshooting step I can think of trying is to swap mobo with a different OEM's z690. Planning to swap mobo's this weekend and see what happens.

10/24/2022 Update:
Updated to BIOS 2.02. No change in issue.
Removed bottom stick of RAM. No change in issue.
Removed top stick of RAM. No change in issue.
Removed both sticks of RAM. No change in issue (No POST code error, which seems strange).

10/26/2022 Update:
Updated to BIOS 2.03. No change in issue.

yea best to stick with 1.15 for ADL. can evga release 1.16 bios with PPD control and fixed twtrl/s range, per dimm pmic + other bugs?

2.0 beta was not recommended, 2.01 adds features, such as per dimm voltage, and is intended for both 12th and 13th gen CPU’s

No, going forward it will be based on the 2.XX branch.  The reason the 2.00 BIOS was a beta was due to our experience that ADL chips could experience lower OC performance with that specific BIOS.  2.01 and newer also includes ADL support and OC performance should not be impacted negatively.

what are the odds the oc profiles might be updated to include "hynix m die" v "hynix a die" to reduce confusion for some folks who are trying to overclock their memory and having trouble? the oc profiles have always been a reliable starting point for overclocking so i'm sure it would be much appreciated by the overclocking portion of your customer base.

i know y'all had a long month this week lol so just want to reiterate my appreciation to you and the team for all the hard work to get things out on such a short timeline, warts and all. thank you

With 2.02, no. I haven't even bothered testing 2.03. It looks like it's still an issue. If you look up a user on Twitter, DasWax , he's reporting it still being an issue with 2.03.

Please reset CMOS if you've updated to 2.02 or 2.03.  Let me know what happens and if you get picture.

On 2.03 with my 4090 FE and a reset CMOS doesn't help at all. Still no BIOS picture, just Ab on the readout code.

Do you get AB if you leave the BIOS running or if you try to enter the BIOS with Del?  In other words, if you don't touch anything, is it hanging at AB?

If I touch nothing it just loads Windows. I have no way to get to the BIOS with picture. If I hit the DEL I get Ab with no picture on bootup.

Are you using DisplayPort or HDMI?  Tried both?

I just bought the Classified z690 on sept 30 ($299), got it a week ago, I have not been able to get to windows, but when I use the same components with the MSI Tomahawk z690, windows boots up in less than 10 seconds.  I have spent HOURS messing around with 1.03, 1.15, 2.01, 2.02, I ended up doing a cross-ship RMA on my brand-new motherboard, because I thought it was a hardware issue with this mobo.  If the new one does the same thing, I am just going to sell it on e-bay and buy a MSI z790.  This is beyond frustrating :(

Same, neither HDMI and DP work on 2.00 or above. Only worked with 1.15 on 12900k.

No, going forward it will be based on the 2.XX branch.  The reason the 2.00 BIOS was a beta was due to our experience that ADL chips could experience lower OC performance with that specific BIOS.  2.01 and newer also includes ADL support and OC performance should not be impacted negatively.

i still cant use 2.xx bioses because of performance loss in games..

Re: BIOS Updates for Z690 DARK K|NGP|N (2.01) / CLASSIFIED (2.01) [13th Gen CPU Support] 2022/12/04 12:51:20 (permalink)

I am not sure if it matters but as someone who went through 90 days of BS because my very 1st MB a ASUS ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming WiFi 6E LGA 1700 Intel 12th Gen ATX Gaming Motherboard BIOS totally trashed my Intel i9-12900k, which Intel did replace. Going through 5 different MBs, 3 PSUs and 3 sets of DDR5, to figure out it had to be the CPU, I discovered something odd about the BIOS on the Z690 Dark Kingpin and the Z690 Classified MBs. If you update this BIOS through the BIOS screen instead of the way with no CPU installed, the BIOS installed differently. Through the BIOS screen in BIOS takes 3-4 minutes and for me it did not install correctly. With everything installed, CPU etc.,  turn off and unplug the PSU, clear CMOS, put the previously blank reformatted USB with either EVGAE698.bin or EVGAE699.bin on the correct MB, in MB BIOS slot, plug in the PSU turn on only the PSU and holding the update BIOS button until the MB sees it, the BIOS install takes 7-8 minutes and it is the only way either MB would update BIOS correctly.

Do you mean without everything installed?
