o lets not overlook this at 69.99 http://store.origin.com/s...pd/productID.254010000 New to Battlefield 3™? Hit the ground running with a staggering amount of content and the ultimate game experience. Battlefield 3™ Premium Edition includes the award-winning Battlefield 3™ game and delivers all its driveable vehicles, destruction and team play. Plus, you’ll get Battlefield 3™ Premium membership and the Multiplayer Head Start Kit. Level the playing field with Battlefield 3™ vets and hold your own from Day 1. It’s the best way to jump into the action.... all for 59.99,when 3 months ago we paid 59.99 for Premium after paying 49-59 for BF3 ?59.99+59.99=119.99 or i could pay 69.99 and the upgrade kit ( 24.99) and get it all now and say screw to everyone who bought premium only 3 months ago .

We all expect a games price to come down after a while of being on the market. I think this is way too fast, especially because premium was announced not too long ago. They are trying really hard to bring in new players right before Armored Kill releases, but they are alienating the current player base at the same time. BF3 Vanilla sold 15 million copies. Premium has sold 800,000. These figures could be off a little. They were probably planning on making a lot more money of the expansions than what the current estimate.

AB...do i love BF3?yes Do I regret buying it on release and buying Premium on release?no. Am i mad about the release and price drops verses content in such a short time(3 months/fact) YES Am i upset a free upgrade kit is included with this at no extra cost ?Yes Would i buy it again? Yes I have thoroughly enjoyed every last cent paid for BF3 and Premium to date (about 130.00) But to offer this so close to Premiums original date with a upgrade kit all for almost what i paid for Premium or BF3 itself is a HORRIBLE way to thank me for buying into the franchise early. Coming from someone who still owns ALL the previous BF series games on CD/DVD's and bought them on release day at full price this is the lowest below the belt punch by a Company i think Ive ever seen .BF3 it self is not even a year old as of sept 11th so sure maybe a 50% cost cut but to offer Premium and a kit at this price is a insult .

Oh Jesus...Okay. This is SKU is the core Battlefield 3 Game, the DLC unlocks for all the upgrades and weapons that you can buy through Origin, and BF Premium. If you bought the core game back when it came out, and BF Premium when it came out. The only thing you are missing are the unlocks which you have either done already or you can throw a couple more bucks at EA to get if you feel so butt hurt that there are people out there that are lvl 1 and have everything already. The head start DLC was put up as a way to fight the people who use cheat programs to get ahead and ruin the game for everyone else who isn't cheating. When you buy this SKU, you will get BF: Premium, which is all the DLC to date plus the future ones through End Game. Additional Weapon unlocks you earn by completing assignments. And don't forget that the DLCs get their own special weapons too. Oh and... those DLC packs would be $15 a piece if you bought them as they come out. The core-BF3 SKU was dropped to $39.99 a week or two ago so adjust your math accordingly when comparing adding Premium to that. And this argument that this is too close to when they came up with BF:Premium doesn't make sense to me. This package isn't giving you any kind of advantage that you don't already have. If you didn't get the $20 difference between this SKU and the combined cost of getting these items individually since the core game was released 10 months ago... then really why did you even buy the game in the first place? Now... how can it be not any more clearer?

Premium (pre-August) is Premium (now) regardless of a price change. Unless it's a different name than people already bought a couple months ago, there is no difference between the Premium then and now. The Premium roadmap confirms this.

Let's face it the more time passes the more EA is going to offer up. By the time End Game comes out a person will probably be able to get everything (game, all DLC, all extra weapons, all unlocks, etc.) for what the original game cost.

So long as the people answering the questions have their story straight. I just don't see where there's room for interpretation. When you condense things down, there are three bulletpoints for this package. No more, no less. Which is the same conclusion the various news sites have posted when they looked at it. I guess I can see how their PR and descriptions are confusing because they spell out so much and try to wow you with all these great features. When what they should have done was just stuck with the basic bullet points. And as for the rest, sorry. I just see this thread spinning it's wheels and wasn't getting where it was coming from. I already see Premium as a discount, so if there's a couple more bucks shaved off it's not really all that relevant to me in the grand scheme of things. I have already got and continue to get what I have already put into it. I think if you see that differently, I think then we are just splitting hairs.

Wait till Planetside2 comes out and the price of a gun is $59.95. EA and all of the others are running a business. They did not make BF3 because "they are great people and worry about the players." They are in it for the dollars. We get sucked in every time. Players are falling away from the game. EA and DICE need new meat. The way of the world now a days.

Ok, I've went through a quick review of the content. There are two Premium versions (one as an add-on to the game and one that includes the game + Premium). There is no need to buy the Premium Edition if you already own Premium as you're entitled to the same exclusive content. The buyers of Premium Edition will get the Multiplayer Headstart Kit early as an incentive to get their player started and levelled up so the other vets don't quite have too much of an advantage over them. Yet, again, Premium members will receive the content but later. It wouldn't make sense to pay for both as you're literally getting the same content, get to play it earlier plus the game again and Premium.

Well, it's definitely attractive for someone who doesn't own BF3. Look at WoW, they don't even give anyone a break. To play the latest expansion pack, you need to buy all of the earlier packs as well. I wouldn't complain, lol. Again though, the Premium members will get the Headstart Kit later (minus the headstart part). I assume you're talking about the Headstart Kit as the "Upgrade Kit" you keep referring to.

Another thing... look here. http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield3/1/kit-shortcuts Looking for a faster way to get some of the weapons and gear that you’ve seen Battlefield 3 veterans using? We’re introducing shortcut kits that will help you get caught up to more experienced players. Each kit unlocks weapons and equipment for a specific class, vehicle set, or from the co-op challenges. You can also unlock more at once and save money; Grab a kit bundle and get a set of kits at a discount.
Whether you’re looking to get a jump start with a class you’ve been neglecting or just want to get your hands on some advanced weaponry, it’s the way to go. All of the kits combined cost more than $24.99 but that's the price you pay to pay to get them unlocked before everyone else. The Premium Edition comes with a kit included to give them an edge/advantage. EDIT: I noticed you linked that earlier. On the other hand, I noticed the Headstart Kit doesn't contain everything from one pack, just a few random items from each of the packs.

Afterburner Thanks BIO.. We are on the same page, just no definitive answer as of yet. I agree with JJ in that... Once you buy "Premium", you have it. They are not calling it... "Premier" changing the name. It is still "Premium". But so many games the past three years have taken us for granted and or we fell for their crap... I am now very stand off ish... And I am not willing to pay until I know... It is actually being called "Battlefield 3 Premium Edition" on a lot of retail sites, including origin itself. Those of us who already bought premium will not be getting the vehicle/mp head start kit because it was not included in our premium DLC. all we get is the DLC packs at a discount, early access and some random free crap. This is specifically for people who do not own the game and will give them a head start when they play, as well as all DLC. which is lame. we had to earn our ****! lol which is how is should be.

If you already own Premium this is a huge insult its not even debatable .3 months later they offer this package for 69.99 ? Your getting Premium for free at this price MSRP for core BF3 has been always $59.99 up until a week or so ago. Any discount was something that was left up to the individual retailers to include Origin. Knocking $10 off the price and complaining about it isn't entirely fair, because not everyone would be able to get it at the price. Especially if you were buying the game for consoles. I've had the 360 version of the game sitting in my Amazon wish list waiting for it to dip enough so I don't feel bad about buying a copy so I can play with my friends that don't have PCs and are on XBL. I was kinda dreading paying another $49 and then building up my Soldier to get all the good stuff. Now with this package. I don't really have to. I just need to wait a little bit longer maybe when it's $40 on Amazon and buy it then and have everything I need plus any future DLC. And how you choose to divvy up the individual parts of the package is irrelevant. You are going from nothing to having all three for $69.99. You're not getting anything, including Premium for free. You're getting it for less than buying the parts individually. That's how most things are discounted when you combine them. Including the Preimum package itself. If they weren't discounted. There would be other people complaining about that! Why don't you complain now about how each one of the DLC packs included with Premium are even less money than buying them on their own? That's capitalism my friend. Vote with your wallet.

And again missing the point,so close to Premiums original release even figuring in your perception of whats ok as a discount for all three this is insulting to previous buyers of premium. Now not even 3 months later they are selling what some bought (and one thing some did not and do not have still) all for more about 50%+ off so soon? This isn't a steam sale its EA the publisher .

I don't see this as an insult to me (who pre-ordered the game). I bought the game a year ago and bought premium a little over a month ago (I was out of town when premium actually released). And yet I'm happy. There is nothing in the Premium Edition that I don't have. Plus if I did wait until the Premium Edition came out, I would still buy just premium for $50 since it's cheaper than the PremEd and I already have the base game. And since I play the game I already have all the unlocks (except recon since I don't play recon) and don't need the headstart kit. Yes I might have payed $40 more for BF3+Premium than what you can get it now for, but I've also been able to play the game for a year where the people just now buying it haven't. And you are already a Colonel 100, do you really need a headstart kit?
