here's an example.

I know you guys cant tell since shadow play only records at 60fps and youtube only plays back at 60fps but I just took this in game BF4 with my single 780 running on Gsync.

http://youtu.be/j-On6iYtbrw

FPS is fluxing between 60-144 sometimes dropping to the 40-50's on big explosions.

I can assure you all. Super fast, no stutter, no tearing , no input lag.

Sure didn't see any tearing or stutter.  Everything looked real fluid...

I see there's quite a number of threads on the ASUS Rog forums about the swift and different issue's...

I've been on there too trying to keep track of he swift. Most of what I read sounds like user error to me. Most the issues I read sounded like they're configs are setup wrong.

Not only that, but they have V-sync on, and some of them complain about 1080P @60Hz on a 1440P screen.......
If you wanted a 1080P screen you should have bought a 1080P screen.

Do you have Arma3?
Or some game that caps fps while being in menu?It seems like gsync is capped to low framerate too when this happends...result is extremely unresponsive mouse movement.
If you do..please test out if you have same issue.

I don't have ArmIII but I have a couple of games that have hard 60FPS/HZ locks on the them. ex. id's RAGE and Wolfenstien:new order both have hard locked a 60FPS/hZ no cvar code can change it.

while both games are lock at 60hz it is much more enjoyable to play them on the Gysnc monitor then it is on the 120hz acer.

I'm not understanding what you mean by low FPS capped? Gsync isn't locked to any HZ that what makes Gsync Gsync is Varibale refresh rate, but if a game has a FPS/HZ cap Gsync like a regular fix Refresh rate monitor will not be able to override the games code.

Just a heads up.

If and when you guys get a Gsync monitor make sure your not using Beta 340.43 it does not work at all with gysnc.

Well if you play game what is capped at 15fps,you only get 15fps/15Hz with Gsync..and some games seems to cap FPS in menus.Black ops 2 has 35fps cap in menu, thats still fine...but arma3 and some other games has even lower.Gsync will give what game gives to Gsync. Some games use dynamic fps in menus,It basicly increases fps while you do something and drops to 1fps if nothing happends..this should work fine with Gsync.

This is not really a big problem, atleast not for me...But shows that there can be problems if game developers do something stupid, like cap fps while doing some lockpicking-minigame in skyrim 2.5

So far I could give 100/100 for Gsync..Image quality is just simply perfect.

Using Rat 7 mmo(dynamic 1040Hz pollingrate)

I see what your saying not. Super low FPS/HZ capped in game menu.

I haven't played any games that cap fps in their menu's before.

But yes it is night/day difference when going from 60hz mouse control to 144hz no doubt

Oh the trolls at Tom's...  In the "Products in this article" section, they show the Rog Swift PG278Q with an Amazon link and my head almost exploded.  Click on the link and what do you get?  The Asus P*B*278Q.

Gaming includes graphics too.  I find the notion of TN monitors being superior for gaming to be misguided, since those that claim this usually don't know what they're talking about and are just using someone else's words.  1ms response time really never made a difference for me compared to 5ms, even when I played competitive FPS.  I do notice the difference in picture quality with IPS monitors however, which these days are easily capable of 5ms and 100+ Hz for almost $500 less.

yes sir, 31" dell IPS at work and try to game on it. too slow, like a slug locked at 60hz and 5ms horrible for any type of gaming except 2D side scrollers.

If you're not here to talk about the swift then just go away. This thread is about the Swift, not arguing IPS vs. TN ok.

This has already been discussed in the previous pages. Turned out most of us waiting for the swift prefer TN over IPS for gaming. We understand the advantages of IPS but again, for our gaming needs, most of us here would rather have a faster monitor than better colors. 5ms & 60hz are, for me and many others, extremely distracting.

I want more than 60 Hz too, so I'm on the same page in that regard.

What combination of cards would you need to get fps over 100 in new titles maxed out? I saw the Linus review and the Fps in crisis was pretty dismal( he said he was using a titan but the rig behind him had 2 cards). If 2 titans cnt get over 60fps at 1440( or my 2 780tis) what the hell would?

I have an IPS as my 2nd monitor... and as Linus says, if you want the best gaming monitor on the market that won't be competed against for 6+ months get this... IPS won't be on the level of this TN for 3 years at this rate. I have no idea why someone with 19k posts would come into this topic to sound so ignorant saying IPS is as good if not better than TN, then when its argued fall back on the i was comparing value... no one in here cares about value, we want the best. It's not only the refresh rate that's a problem with IPS, it's the shades of black in games. and if you pull the but you get better viewing angles with an IPS who do you know who doesn't have your monitors pointed directly at you? lol
