https://www.pcgamer.com/alienwares-55-inch-4k-oled-gaming-monitor-is-definitely-getting-released/ The only worthy display for PC gaming for the foreseeable future. This is a great hold me over until microLED launches at a somewhat affordable rate. The only precaution is that I read OLED panels should be conditioned with dynamic content for at about 100 hours before displaying any static content such as games that have HUDs that are static and may cause burn-in if playing for extensive periods of time without running dynamic content for significant amounts of time in-between. Otherwise, if used only for a few hours a day, it will go for about a decade before any noticeable degradation of colors will occur which is what I consider to be the only major drawback. Nonetheless, it is the only option for pixel perfect 3840x2160 native 10-bit without dithering at 120Hz and by setting a custom resolution in the NVIDIA control panel, I can turn it into a 21:10 aspect ratio display (3840x1600).

That would be a massive monitor and with how close people normally are to a monitor I don't really think you could really take in 55".

55 is too big...try something in the 40-47inch take it from me...im using 55 Qled 4K I wind up having to stand up to read the words at the top of the screen then sit down again lol great for photography or art but for games or basic housekeeping,word,spreadsheet,reading....NO!!!

For gaming I would mostly use it with a customized resolution of 3840x1600 which cuts the screen size down to the 40 to 47" that you seem to say is ideal, so it seems like a perfect match. Then be able to sit back and watch a movie using the full 55".

That 4k label is pretty deceptive. 4k denotes 2160p, not 1600p. It would be like someone calling 1920x800 Full HD when we all know that's not the case. Both 1920x800 and 3840x1600 are known as 21:9 Cinema aspect ratio displays that cater to Blu-Ray and HD Blu-ray movie content. On a side note, I've been using a 42" 4k TV as my display since ~2016. Anything larger than that overwhelms a desk.

I'm a firm believer that the 27" 2560x1440 res monitor is the sweet spot for desktops - good for gaming, while still being very functional for productivity (email, excel, programming, graphic design, etc.), assuming you're actually sitting at a standard desk. A 55" would be great for pure gaming and media if you have a nice comfy setup with at least a good 6 feet between the screen and your eyeballs, preferably more.

I completely agree. The less head/neck movement, the better.

I have a 30" 2560x1600 16:10 monitor which I find is very comfortable when at the lowest position on the stand — which is where it is positioned until our cat decides to plonk herself down in front and blocks the view
