AMD & NVIDIA graphics card prices are showing signs of recovery as we enter the third quarter of 2021. Based on 3DCenter's latest report, it looks like the worst is over and GPU supply is returning to normal as seen on various European retailers.

Just last month, we had seen the graphics card prices peak to an insane three times over the MSRP. While GPU shortages were primarily to blame, the cryptocurrency and gaming demand both led to insane price hikes for AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards across the globe. NVIDIA's GeForce graphics cards peaked at over 3x the MSRP while AMD graphics cards peaked at over 2x the MSRP but in the latest reports, we see continued improvement but there's still a long way to go before we see these cards back at their official MSRPs.
 
Looks like there is a light in the end of the tunnel fellas, crossing fingers.

I haven't seen prices go down enough yet myself. Let's see if there is a downward trend.

AND i wonder if the so awaited light in the end of this tunnel ..reaches us by the time  the new gfx gen comes out

I'm still expecting shortages to last at least through the end of this year regardless of articles like this, both from looking at the supply chain reports and things like Intel saying they expect shortages two years out and even nVidia piling on and finally admitting they expect it to last through the rest of the year. Frankly, I would be surprised if the shortage did end this year. As to when it'll end next year (or if, given some statements on the matter) I have less of an opinion. Admittedly that's partially since I finally gave in and just pulled the trigger on a new build after six months though (previous PC had pretty much given up the ghost).

I'll believe it when I see it. We've seen this before and it jumps right back up.

Even memory prices have gone up.

Looking a little better for EU, but NA feels the same.

I don't think the prices in NA, US at least, got as bad as EU. RTX 3090 was selling for above 3000 EUR (that's $3600) 3080 above 2000 EUR. It's a little better now but still way overpriced. 3090 for 2500+ and 3080 1500+

found some Zotac 3090 trinity cards in Canada
in person purchase only - im hope there is some left by tomorrow when i travel there
 
ok there is some improvement - they have both 3090s and 3080ti's

It's probably a lot of people bought up the cards with the intent of selling them on eBay and then realized thousands of cards showed up at the same time for $1000 over MSRP and nobody is buying them really. Now these scalpers are probably realizing that they need to cut the price to hopefully make some kind of profit before the store supply catches up because at that point it will go for a loss for them. Hopefully we get a lot of scalpers who realized that buying a GPU to flip didn't pay off and they won't be back for the next generation.
