As I said in the other posts,  why not either apply the fix, or send it in for RMA?  All I see is you complaining and not doing anything to fix it? The problem is probably the bearing in the ACX,  or the motor.   Send it back,  or since EVGA isn't directly responding to forum posts,  email Evga and post the results. I have had no issues with my cards yet.   The only thing that got me,  originally,  was the bios issue with the Classifieds,  which has been resolved.

Now,  think about the cars,  like I said.   If your car did that,  would you just continually post on the Internet,  or would you send it back for repair? Maybe both of our logic is flawed,  but I would sure send it back before just whining about it on the Internet like you are currently doing.

Maybe the wording should have been common sense instead of logic....

Anyway, I just found out it does it at 65% too. This card is garbage. EVGA is crap. I'll return it and go somewhere else. EVGA has really gone downhill. I bought nothing but EVGA for about 10 years, and I bought a lot of cards, but the 780 TI issues are outrageous.

Why not just return it and go somewhere else,  like you said?

Why not admit that you are a fanboy and EVGA can do no wrong... Come on, you know you want to. Trucking around looking for a post that speaks out against their product, ready to flame with fanboy logic. Come on buddy, we know you want to. I can find MANY posts of myself singing EVGA praise, until recent products. I have no brand loyalty... Can you say the same?

Joined 2008, joined 2013... I think, I have more credibility here. I've been buying EVGA product for years, you are signed up last year.

You are exactly right..  All two products I have have made me a true fan boy...   Wait...  Because I say this with any product,  I am a fanboy of one?   Oh jeez..  I wish I would have known.   That means...  I am a fan boy of the R9 series on YouTube as well,  when they people cry about a product they won't buy...   So..  Yeah.   Totally a fanboy.   Does that satisfy your wish my friend?  :-)  glad I could help you there, so...  Back to you returning your stuff.

Yeah, back to me returning garbage. If a company produces garbage, I return garbage. Would you not do the same? If not, then you are an idiot. Competition allows for this to happen. How else can EVGA, or any company, know to improve their product? They lose money and ultimately learn that the customer is not satisfied. They change the flaws in their design. I've always liked EVGA, the reason I continue buying their product, but will not enable the company. I will keep throwing a flawed product back in their face.

Oh GOD....   You spotted me...  What do I do.   Please show me the praises I am giving out?  As far as I know,  saying to send them back and or fix hem yourself isn't praise.   If I am a fanboy,  I would say it is more over a vendor like Frozen CPU or EKWB,  as they have been extremely helpful.   The only thing Evga has done is tell me they can't ship me anything and provide one bios update.

I am not currently sitting on garbage,  as far as I know.   I have yet to even test my classifieds out,  as my belongings aren't in my dorm.  If the cards don't work,  they will go back.   You are the one sitting on them,  complaining,  and talking about how you are going to send them back....  So you are an idiot?

HAHA, that's why I've returned four broken cards and you say that I just need to return my card and stop complaining on their tech support forum... The forum that they respond and listen to? Ah, smart one you are. Also, I have been receiving extremely high quality cards since before 2008 from EVGA, why would I not give them several chances? I want to believe it is just an issue with the 780TI, the only card I have had any significant issues with.
Come on, give me your education details and GPA before you start throwing around, "stupid". You know better, because you have read my previous posts.

Ok, good work... You've been sorting through my posts... Keep looking. I went through both my undergrad and MBA with only two B's... The rest were all A's. Don't insult my intelligence, I know exactly what I am doing. EVGA only learns to improve their product when getting feedback from users or having product returns (a form of feedback). They will learn from their customers ("whining"). Why would a company ever create a forum and not be looking for customer feedback. What an easy way to gain feedback about their product.

LOL, I was joking and decided to update. :-) I messaged you. I am done hijacking this thread. I never once claimed to know you. You act like I tried to, and act as if your MBA somehow applies better than what I do. Unfortunately I would have to care what you do first. I admit I am a novice, and I don't need to hide behind pseudonyms.. To each their own.

Hello chrisdglong and Scarlet-Tech .

You guys can go discuss this for another post ? I created this post for anyone who has / have the same problem I had with my graphics card , can be helped by my fix( or other fix from someone that share it in this post ) , that do not want to return it. Now thanks to you guys we have to read nearly a page of a discussion that should have been done in another post.

This is the only time that I will refer to this so do not ask me more about this .... The ACX cooler is a very good innovation because it can maintain temperatures low and low noise that was what I wanted to buy without having to buy other cooler for the graphics card , but like all innovations bring problems in this case was the rattle ( coil whine was not the reason why I created this post) . So I found a solution to the problem and shared to help anyone who had the same problem and did not want to return the card for some reason (mine was a good result ASIC score) .

Now I ask you not to continue with this discussion in this post .

Gwiz187When i press up against the last fin ( with a screwdriver with insulated handle ) very gently the vibration stops, not really in the mood to RMA a card and to get the same issue back so thermal tape it is.

Good luck then and keep us posted .

Where do you usually buy such tape?,i can only find pads none of the hardware stores in the area have it.

I'ts a bit rare to find. But if you cant find it try it with a good electrical/insulating tape. Or try in the Ebay.

Well i still didn't buy it and the problem seems to be coming and going although the noise is much less now and can only be heard when i listen at the back of the case ( slight rattle ).
I'm happy with the performance of the card only i don't think i will buy anything from EVGA again or any other brand with so called  Active Cooling Xtreme,i have a XFX 6970 it's pretty loud fan wise but atleast i don't hear any mechanical issues, from browsing the forums about this issue it seems it was already reported sometime around september 2013 while i bought this GTX 770 SC ACX in november,to me not a good sign.

The funny part is someone recommended EVGA to me but i can't pass that recommendation myself.

But thanks for the help man,and when the noise really becomes annoying i will try the fix you were willing to share.

Edit: I had a laugh at the biosupdate though that was issued in the other thread..  :D,and just seeing the award specifically for the card i have for the lowest noise.

It makes you wonder while so many report problems if these awards are legitimate.

Think of the awards with logic of the rest of the world... You buy a Ferrari, and it get 5 mpg for gas, but the one they test get 17, so it gets the award for the best fuel mileage in the Ferrari line.

What every seems to think is that everyone single items coming off of every single assembly line is exactly the same. I am not saying it is fair, but severely unrealistic. Don't forget, the testers have one card, so they are awarding for that card, not for the entire line of cards. Watch the obsidian 250D reviews.. I have seen 5 so far, and two of them flat out said, this case is stupid, don't buy it... I have never seen either of those reviewers give bad feedback like that.

If a $18,000 to we'll over $1,000,000 car can come with major defects, causing it to burn to the ground, what makes people think computers parts can't? I am honestly baffled by all the whining and crying at this point. Get the *+ș( past it. RMA it or find an at home fix. If you can accept cars having problems and not a computer part, then priorities are flawed.

*not pointing the finger directly at anyone in this thread, but seriously, use some F*****G logic. *

It's not whining and crying, the way you respond however.. i just made an observation like i do now.

My apologies for coming off the wrong way. I was referring to all components, not specifically the ones you were referring to. Yes, the observation that there are issues is correct. The observation that the one that received the award was in fact not plaqued with the problems is my observation. I was just trying to make an example that was obviously too harsh.

I think my rattle is actually coming from the end bracket itself, where the video out ports are. If I hold my finger on the bracket, when it is rattling, the rattle goes away.

I don't know, but I am going to give it a try. I think, if I put a piece between my case and the bracket it might even fix it. The bracket might not be tightened down all the way. I am going to try tightening the screws first.

How close is the bracket and case? Like I keep saying, my stuff gets here Thursday, and before I pull the ACX off I will check it. I may be willing to trade them, for ones that rattle, if they don't. I won't be using them after the first few Tests and benchmarks and then they are getting removed. I would just need the ACXs for RMA purposes, if at all.

It's pretty low tbh.

I have heard more about coil whine than actual rattling.

my 780 TI classifieds is perfectly fine.

What exactly is the rattling noise and the coil whine? I have different types of noise coming from my 780 Classified. One that is more like a vibration (When the fan is around 60-70%) and one that is really high pitched.

Intel i7-2600K @ 3.90GHz, Asus P8P67 Pro, Corsair H70, Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3PC315000C9 @1866MHz, Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850, OcUK GTX 570 (presently installed in the system), Corsair Obsidian 800D
