Botton to top: cablemod, EVGA stock, offical EVGA custom sleeved

Cablemod pinout is all out of wack. They keep insisting to everyone that it is based on the official EVGA sleeved cables, including to me. I didn't accept that as true because i own the official cables as seen above, i showed pictures of stock, official sleeved and their cables . They have the 17th and 3rd pin on the 18 pin PSU plug running to the 20th pin on the 24 pin plug which is the 2 x 3.3v running to the defunct -5v pin.

Apparently this is quite common with their cables, either by design or poor quality control.

I'm waiting for a response and will update accordingly. For now unless you want to repin some cables, i wouldn't buy cablemod.

Interesting...

When I sleeved D5 Pump only remind me how I like EVGA Sleeve Cable Set.
Best decision to buy them.
But I would design different approach and everyone would except very fast.

Every cable would look as powercord only different thickness with nice plastic end on connector.
I can bet customers would accept very fast and asked different colors. Only cable would sleeve like mouse cable or keyboard cable...

If EVGA make such set I will buy immediately. Only should be brave to offer something new.

Hi Chicbears,

I have the exact same issue right now, that same pin is missing on the cablemod 24pin that I got with a second hand EVGA Supernova 850 G2. I was wondering if you see my reply here maybe you can tell me what happened in the end? Did you use that cablemod 24pin? Is it safe?
The seller claims that he used this with the PSU already i just want to be 1000% sure that I can plug this in and dont worry about it. You know I also got the stock 24pin for the PSU and thats why I noticed that the 24pins are not the same pinout.
Your response is much appreciated,
Warlock
