Hello all! I am new to EVGA, recently I purchased a EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra 12gb. I love it! Now I am looking at adding a EVGA SuperNOVA G Plus 1300 to my system. I am normally a Corsair person when it comes to PSU's. Does anyone know if this PSU is reliable? I had a brain injury several years ago, and for some reason in my mind there were some SuperNOVA's failing. But I can remember which models they were.
Thank you in advance for either clearing up the cobwebs in my memory, or educating me on the PSU Good/Bad.

What is the big difference between the g2 1300w, and the G plus? I understand the G2 is older, but I thought it interesting it's still selling for $274.99 at MicroCenter. I just ordered the G plus, 1 item in this order EVGA SuperNOVA G Plus 1300 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply

If I was a buyer I'd stick to the tried and true older models. I've got the G2 for many years now. These have been reviewed, they know what OEM makes them and also you can get different cable kits for them.. like cablemod.
I had to return a 1600 P+ cause cablemods is not compatible with their ATX main cable.. no one makes a cable that can work with it.
P+/G+.. No one knows the OEM.. and evga won't send out samples to reviewers for review for some reason.
Also heard alot of reports of bad coil whine.
If you can to return it to evga.. don't wait long 14 days from order.. and don't open it as they will charge you a restocking fee.

I just picked it up at MC, with a price match for $169.99. I haven't opened it. Would you be able to tell me more about the coil whine? Is that more when it's at full load, something hopefull a 1300w would not hit for a long time. Except, I decided on a 1300w with enough room for these new 4000 series gpu's .

The G2/P2/T2 lines of PSU are SuperFlower built..... EXCELLENT. The other lines i stay away from

Indeed. Don't get any P+. I've been through three 1300W P+ power supplies and all of them have had crazy coil whine. I sent 2 back through RMA, and the 3rd one doesn't have as bad of coil whine, so I'm just living with it because I'm tired of sending them back. Pretty sure it's the last EVGA PSU I'll ever buy. I'll go with Seasonic or Corsair for my next one.

I just play an intense game like Cyberpunk or Battlefield 2042 and it starts screaming. I had an EVGA G3 1000W in there that was running the same hardware and at full bore that PSU was extremely silent. I put it in my daughter's computer, however, so I can't just switch back.
