being new to sli my only concern was power consumption so I ordered a kill a watt it came today and I installed it (I still need to read the instructions more thoroughly on it )about 15 minutes ago ran heaven benchmark wattage ranged in the 500s once it hit 612 but stayed around 540 to 580 watts then I played doom a little bit and it never hit 500 watts it stayed in the 440 to 480 watt range so it seems sli does not consume that much power oops my 1st classy core oc is+75 the 2nd is +100 taking both core clocks to 1518

I think the 980 ti Classified has a 300 watt power limit. Kill-A-Watt readings will vary depending on usage and load. My PC idles around 126 watts at Destop or while browsing. Benchmarking had me peak at around 618 watts during a Firestrike run. I have modded VBIOS on both boards giving me 1.275v at 150% Power Limit while my i7-4790k is OC to 4.7 GHz with a single D5 pump and nine 120mm fans running at 100% at all times. Typical gaming draws somewhere around 535 watts for me.

just came back after letting pc sleep it was pulling 2watts I also plugged the kill a watt into a drop cord and sat it on my desk to see it better(pc was plugged into surge protector with lamp, modem, monitor) it is pulling 144 to 149 while surfing the net overall I am please with power draw so far heck I might even cancel the step up on my second classy and just put it underwater with the first one(I only did the step up for the lesser power draw of the 1080) also I have not modded my vbios and I left my cpu at stock settings

A Kill-A-Watt is a handy little tool that can measure a lot of things for you. At one time I was measuring the Amperage I needed at boot. I tried to measure the kw/hr so I could figure my electric bill but it is accumulative and keeps a running total that just gets larger and larger. I was happy when I first saw my kw/hr usage but an hour later I almost had a heart attack because it kept adding it up during the day. I know what everything is going to be whenever I run a program but feel naked if it is not there for me to gaze at now and then. I don't think I could live without one now. They should put a warning on the package about the possibility of physical dependency.
