No combination of settings I have tried will get Precision XOC to load a specific profile when it starts. It does use the last settings- but does not load the profile that contains said settings.

This is an issue for me because I am trying to use the Global Hotkeys. Global hotkey work fine ONCE A PROFILE HAS LOADED and not before. So in order to use the Global Hotkeys to change profiles, I have to open up the program and click on a profile.

Does anyone know how to get this program to load a profile when it starts? When I say load a profile, I mean with the profile number green/blue whatever color it is, not just the previous settings.

I am asking this question due to discovering this issue looking for and nearly finding a solution to the below post-

Right Click Left Click Save Profile Number (Is Green) then Settings then OK
Exit PXOC and reboot PC and see if that works.

Or is it Left Click Right Click Save Profile Number

This does not work. I can save profiles just fine- and when the computer is restarted or the program reopened it uses the same settings.

But the profile is not... selected.

You have to open the program and click on a profile for it to be selected or loaded- whatever you want to call it, but the behavior changes when this is done.

It never highlights the profile until you select it regardless of saving, booting, restarting, or rain dance for me.

Once the profile is selected (the number will turn colors), then Global hotkeys begin to work and not before.

Can someone confirm this? Can you start the program and open it (in most cases use "show" from the menu since most start minimized due to the very long load badge debacle) and see a profile number that is highlighted (like when you select it) without clicking any profile in any way?

Do the above a Save to A New Profile Number and then go to Settings and click OK and exit out and reboot the PC.
It works on all my computers running 6.2.7 with a GTX 1080 Ti 6 in all.
I hope you get this working.
They could add what Profile Number to startup with under the Settings Area and that would take care of it.
It is not the easy settings to use that is true as it did take me 3 or 4 times to get it to work on my rigs.

When you say it works... is the profile highlighted (as you described green)?

Or is it just using the settings?

This program is the buggiest piece of work I have ever seen.

Can you use global hotkeys to select profiles after boot without opening (maximizing/showing) the program?

Yes the profile is highlighted and then I select the Settings then click ok
Make sure you have the Button Check use the last Profile used, I have the Top 3 Items Checked under Settings.

Left-click to activate the desired profile you created..Then enable 'Apply previous settings on load' and click OK..Then enable 'Start With OS' and click OK..Then close and open Precision again..Should work after that upon restart or cold start.

Precision has an issue where most changes will not get written/saved to it's .cfg (configuration) files unless Precision is closed..It's best to close and open Precision again after making any changes in Profiles, Settings (including hotkeys) and HWM and make sure the changes remain.

If 'Fast startup' is enabled in the Windows (8/10) Power Options, changes will not take effect on a cold startup unless Precision is closed and opened again, which writes the changes to the .cfg files.

Left-click to activate will turn the Profile Green in Color.
You have to have a Profile Saved Before you can do this.

I can activate and save profiles (see image of profile 0 activated). They just don't activate without opening the program- I have to maximize (or open) and click to select a profile. Thanks for the advice. Probably not worth fixing, I'll just deal with however I can get it to not crash.

This Shows that Profile 0 is active

You do have to Start PXOC when the OS Boots Up for this to really Work with each change.
Under Settings do you have the top three items Checked?

In windows 10, selecting a 2d or a 3d profile for precision xoc to start with causes the program to crash- it must be "not assigned" or sooner or later it fatally crashes and terminates with error 1000 in windows log with faulting application precisionx_x64.exe. The error:

Faulting application name: PrecisionX_x64.exe, version: 6.2.7.0, time stamp: 0x5af10c52
Faulting module name: PrecisionX_x64.exe, version: 6.2.7.0, time stamp: 0x5af10c52

    Report Id:
    Faulting package full name:
    Faulting package-relative application ID:

Likely associated in some way with the 2d or 3d profile bug, precision xoc must be maximized (or for right clickers- "show") and then a profile clicked on for it to load a profile. This does not crash the program right away- but I am guessing it may eventually crash out with error 1000 when a profile is loaded in this way as well.

Moral of the story- in windows 10 precision x will not load a profile (it will load the most recently used settings) on start without crashing, ever. Maximizing precision x and selecting a profile may crash sooner or later as well, but I am concentrating on getting it to load on start now anyhow. Does. Not. Work.

Probably moot since X1 (according to EVGA) has an all new codebase and GTX cards are going to be integrated into that codebase anyhow. Or at least that is the impression EVGA is giving.
