Looking for $600 Gaming PC recommendations including Monitor, Case, Keyboard and Mouse. In other words a complete system. OS cost does not need to be figured into the price.

This is for a 10 year old that a single mother wants for her son. He has always played on consoles he and wants to give PC Gaming a try.

Thanks.

You might see if you can round up some hardware donations from the folk here.  I don't have any old hardware hanging around but some may.

Look into Ryzen 4 core processors, they are fast enough and not too expensive, G.Skill makes some economical DRAM for not too much as well. I'd go with 16Gb for the RAM and Sandisk makes some pretty good SSD's for cheaper than other name brands. Look into a 250GB or so for both the OS and games. ASrock makes a few nice boards that aren't too expensive either you don't necessarily need a full ATX board, there are some nice Mirco ATX boards since the 10yr old won't be going SLI and Xfire. And for graphics an nice RX 580 or RX470 would be plenty to have a good gaming experience for a decent price, or you could look at a gtx 1060 6gb/3gb instead. Hope this helps your build! And a nice Seasonic 600w ish 80+ Bronze PSU would also be a good option to consider for the PSU. And for the heat sink, the classic Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a really good air cooler but you could get by with just the stock cooler that comes with the Ryzen CPU's

I'm going to be really honest with you here, I tried making a build list on a budget for my nephews and there was no way in hell you could get anything worth the money.

I suggest waiting for a sale and buying a pre-built, That's what we did with my nephews instead, we bought a $1,200 pre-built for $900 and it came with a keyboard and mouse, the only thing we had to buy (Which they already had, so we didn't spend more $$) was a monitor. I'm sure you can get a bit lower end for $600 and just buy him a used 20"+ monitor!

Edit: Something like this on sale would be in the mid $500's

The only problem is the video card is a bit out dated, but for a 10 year old it wouldn't be a problem.

If the kid didn't need a monitor, kb & mouse, it would be easier to hit the $600 budget.

    https://turbofuture.com/c...Desktop-Computer-Build
The site lists AMD and Intel budget system for $600 (no monitor, kb or mouse).

*Some AMD B350 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Raven Ridge CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

He is interested in Black Ops and Fortnite.

Used parts are an option also, except maybe the monitor, case, mouse and keyboard.

600 dollars is an extremely tight budget for a "needs everything" scenario. Given that, I'd suggest best buy, costco, microcenter, whatever you got for a prebuilt... It will be cheaper most likely that almost anything you could build for them.
