I'm rusty at building PCs, so forgiveness in advance if this is a beginner's question.
An EVGA Supernova G3 750W is being paired with an EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra. The GPU takes one 6-pin and one 8-pin power cable.
What I've run in to is that the included 6+2 male connector does not fit in the 8-pin female slot on the GPU, specifically the "+2" connector tail. Both of the male connectors on the +2 plug have rounded bases, but the 8-pin female slot on the GPU is calling for one rounded and one square plug shape. The +2 connectors won't fully seat in the slot and I'm reluctant to try to power the system on until the connections are secure.
EVGA support claimed that the cables shipped with the Supernova G3 would work, but the attached pictures hopefully show my confusion.
Do I need to purchase an 8-pin male to 8-pin male cable? Am I missing something obvious? Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
