Hallo to all members of this community, Recently i purchased an Intel 5960x and an EVGA x99 FTW-K. Both are great, so i would like to ask a question regarding OC. I managed 4.5GHz with just 1.15 Vcore and 0.015 offset, BCLK 100, Input Voltage 1.75, Ring is auto 36 with auto voltages , regarding memory are Ripjaws V 3000mhz@2666Mhz I am absolute stable, tested with IBT and AIDA64. My question is: Gflops are normal in IBT ? They seem quite low to me, do you have any suggestion? Best Regards, Spirit0r

Or what about what about breaking the sound barrier or rockets to the moon or atomic energy or a mission to mars? Science fiction, right? --Visit [+=] on #bloodygreeks @ quakenet--

You are at 1.15 at 4.5ghz and stable? That seems extremely low. How much testing have you done to verify stability?

Yes that's correct, i have run couple of times IBT in very high profile, AIDA64 for only 1 hour to be honest and RealBench just for benchmark, no stress testing. I'm on these settings 3 days already, gaming, browsing etc, no freezes or lock ups. I can say i am stable. I just don't like the amount of GFLOPS. I think they are not normal. I would like to mention that during benchmark i don't have any CPU throttling of any kind.

Thank you a lot! Really appreciated, i cant find any reference IBT screenshots at stock or overclocked for this processor.

Do you have the latest MB & Intel drivers loaded ? Which BIOS are you running ?

I am running BIOS version 2.03, which is the latest without the Spectre and Meltdown patches. I have installed Intel ME drivers and nothing else except essential stuff. As i'm saying above maybe those numbers are normal but for me, they seem low. I've seen 5930K's hitting something like 185GFlops, maybe they do have HT off as they don't clarify. I don't know.

Thank you for your bench! This is mine which seems normal compared to yours:

QwikMark doesn’t read processor speed for what it is, just throws out base clocks. Not impressed by that. Ran burn test and will update an image, but I am sitting at 4.6ghz not 4.5. With Sajin at 4.4ghz and 390 flops, you at 4.5ghz and 398 gflops, and me at 4.6 and 409gflops, it all looks pretty consistent. Stock 5960x just for reference. This test is 6 years old, and pretty consistent.

Thank you all for your time and benchmarks you performed. So case is closed, conclusion is that for this CPU that amount of GFlops are normal. Thank you all!
