do you have your gpu temp and/or your ram speed and timings for the port royal run? It's a very good run, albeit I'm a little disappointed. I thought the ftw3 could do more. I'm looking at Vmanuelgm. He scored just shy of 15,000. I'm trying to get a reference for what to expect out of the kingpin card. His card is shunted so hes able to suck i believe around 550wats? with an average temp for the runs of 43 C because he stuck a waterblock on it. I want to see specifically what you guys are doing so differently. I was talking to a guy on another forum who is currently #5 in port royal and hes using an EVGA card with a score of 14,785.... average temp is 49 C. His peak clock is 2,115 MHz with an average clock of 2,035 MHz on a 9900k. This clocks and temps are very doable so i want to figure out the reason for such a large disparity in scores. One common thing i notice is that these top guys are have extremely high memory clocks. Over 4000 minimum. I wonder if this benchmark relies on memory speed for extra performance

Attached are two screen shots. I'm running two 16gig G.Skill Royals at 4000MHz. I cant remember how high my fans were set but my GPU was at 56C. I'm using a corsair 280x Crystal case which is a small form factor so i had to take the side panel off to keep temps down

I think my ram is holding me back, only at 3200mhz. Regarding the GPU I never hit thermal limits. Awesome cooling solution by EVGA. I am constantly hitting power limits though. I need better bios please EVGA.

TBF i was comparing to the top 10 scores in the world. I dont want you to think your underperforming. You have great scores try benchmarking port royal as well

Chumeniuk, wow your threadripper really kicks my 10900k's ass in that benchmark. I get about 10,000 less on my CPU score. I knew theres a big difference between them but i didnt know it was that big. At least it only amounts to about a 500 difference in overall score so i hope it wont matter much for gaming which is all i do

Your threadripper spanks my 10940X, but my 3090 FTW3 Ultra is spanking yours! https://www.3dmark.com/co.../14215834/spy/14254119
Here's a slightly better one. I'm going to try mounting my card differently. It replaced a vertically mounted water cooled card and it's very close to the motherboard. I noticed your temps are much better than mine and I wonder if the cool are is just being pushed past the card. I have an Enthoo 719 so the motherboard is pretty far back in the case to start. The riser cable is PCIE 4.0 and shows that in GPU-Z but that may also be causing some issues. Also not really a fan of the CPU score being included. Even the 3970x can barely render the scene above 20 FPS so it's a pointless test. GPU scores in general will be lower if the CPU can't keep up anyways and a faster core clock will be more beneficial than 32 cores at 3.8-4.1Ghz. 3970X 3090 FT3 Ultra GPU 10058 CPU 15538 Total 10619

Hey chunemiuk ! I was wondering what kind of set up did you have, I have 3970x + gigyabite 3090 and when i run the defaut Time Spy ( the free one ) in game mode, I only get around 17k... I tried basically everything, can't get better than that. What's your secret? :) Do you OC your cpu/gpu? Thank you ! Romain chumeniuk A comparison of my old card vs new.
