What are the thicknesses of the thermal pads that are included with the Kingpin Hydro Copper kit?  I looked through the manual and the thicknesses were not listed.

Sent in a ticket to EVGA Support.  I'll list it when/if I get a reply, otherwise I should have the kit tomorrow and post some pics of the pads next to caliper.

Thanks!  My kit is supposed to arrive early next week, but I was hoping to order some alternative thermal pads prior to installation.

Unfortunately, the Kingpin Hydro Copper thermal pads aren't listed there.

What are the thicknesses of the thermal pads that are included with the Kingpin Hydro Copper kit?  I looked through the manual and the thicknesses were not listed.

Everything on the VRAM, both die & backplate side is 2mm. I didn't measure the VRM thermal pads because I didn't replace them. I did swap the VRAM die side thermal pads to 12W 2mm pads & my ram Temps are KekW:

That's a single run of port royal. They get a bit warmer with longer loads, but not much.

Those are some pretty nice temps. How did you achieve this??? Custom loop or standard kingpin? Please tell - I would love to replicate this for my 3897 I’m (hopefully) getting relatively soon.

Got my reply from CS (on a Saturday night?)

The 3090 KingPin HydroCopper kit includes thermal pads.  The thickness of each of the pads vary on which component and location they are placed.

VRAM: 2.25mm
PWM near PCIE power cables: 2.75mm
PWM near I/O: 2.75mm

If you have any other questions, please reply.

The weird thickness is because the stock pads are garbage - subjective point of view.

2mm is what I put on to replace mine and as ya can see above, I'm not having temperature issues.

As the quoted post I'm replying to says, it's a HydroCopper kit upgrade for the Kingpin, with the thermal pads for the VRAM chips being replaced with 12.8W/mK thermal pads from Amazon - and of course that's a full open loop setup:

Thanks for sharing that info! Knowing who makes the thermal pads they're using might also by useful.

I don't believe this is accurate.  This is accurate for our 3090 FTW3 HC cards, but I cannot confirm the accuracy for the KP HC.

Thanks! I haven't got my notify yet so I haven't been able to check them myself. Are they somehow labeled as being manufactured by/from ziitek?

Thanks Lee! Any chance you could provide the correct info? I'm thinking about sourcing pads from Laird, but haven't learned enough yet to make up my mind.

So where does one obtain 2.25 mm thermal pads?  Doesn't appear to be a common thickness.  Dabadger84 indicated he's using 2mm pads on the block, and those are much more readily available.

Thanks, good guidance. Since I have that stretched out Optimus pad form my teardown, maybe I'll give that a go with the mp5works.  Have a bunch of various thickness Thermwright pads on the backplate now based on some other posts, but might as well give the thick boi a shot.  Already has all the indentations from the first install.

Hello All, Bumping and old thread, but I can't seem to find the answer in here.
I needed the pad thickness for the Hybrid Kingpin 3090.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you,
Jason

Zippy, I did as you suggested.  2.0mm (to replace pasty 2.25) and 2.5mm (to replace pasty 2.75) Geiled and could not be happier with the improvement.  holy moly.
