Just made an account to post here. Digikey has all those pad sizes and more.

Laird Technologies makes some graphite pads that sound similar to what you described with the OG pads. A bit pricey though.

A18330-09 is the manufacturer product number for the 2.25mm on the digikey website (digikey PN 926-A18330-09-ND)

The datasheet on Laird's site looks promising too.

There are reports that laird is the company that makes the stock ones. The thing to look for is a low shore number.

I used 3mm between the backplate on my 3080 ftw3 ultra along with some 20x20x10mm aluminum heatsinks on top and my memory junction stays around 66-68 while gaming and rarely peaks at 70-72. Peak temps on PWR sensors are around 10c cooler.

Glad I found this thread.  I went thru your ordeal attempting to re-pad an MSI RTX 3090.  No love in that matter.

So now I have an EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra, I love it, and it's a stable card with excellent temps.  I ran across these Noctua 40mm 5,000 RPM fans...love them, they even brought temps down 2 celsius.

Had odyssey pads arrive in mail today for my ftw3 3090. Used 2mm for front VRAM and 2.5mm (2mm+0.05mm stacked) on back VRAM. Cleaned the stock putty and replaced with TG-PP-10 from Digikey (leftover from repasting old 2070). Temps look pretty good. Vram junction was at 92c stock running furmark and 98c mining eth (I have a small 80mm fan pointed at back board). With the new pads and putty, temps dropped to 84c furmark and 86c mining. MOSFET temps look a few degrees better but never passed 75c do begin with so didn't care that much.

Great info here. Used a couple of these suggestions on my 3080 ftw3 and have seen decent reduction in temps across the mem junction (~10c) and modules.

I emailed EVGA support because the 3090 I received on a RMA was a refurbished card and it was missing some of the pads, so I asked support for some replacement pads and then sent some out. I think the issue most people have when they repad the card is they are selecting pads with a shore hardness that is way too high and are getting poor contact with the card the factory ones are almost putty like which might be ideal as the surface is uneven.

some VRM temps are shown in precision x1 and hwinfo64. the VRAM temps are the more important ones to measure as the back side VRAM are not actively cooled.

I'm getting mixed messages regarding the appropriate sized pad for where the putty is applied. I've read that the area is unevenly leveled?

How about EVGA sells us replacement kits.
We should not have to go to these lengths to get the correct and proper pads/putty.

Part of what I pay for when I buy EVGA is to not have to become a thermal interface material expert to simply install and maintain my Hybrid Kit GPU.

Also DigiKey is not retail. They're a wholesale operation meaning you have to buy in bulk. They normally sell to a retail business or manufacturer. Note the price of the product number posted previously...

At *retail* you can not buy the correct pads EVGA specifies.

I wish EVGA would send me replacements like I asked for instead of trying to sell me EVGA's Thermal Paste because they didn't pay attention to what I wrote in my ticket.

Unless their paste is as thick as the putty I can't imagine suggesting I buy the EVGA thermal paste to replace the putty.

Also they seem to want to believe that no one should ever, or very rarely, need replacement pads like they don't dry out and/or get ruined when you take the GPU apart.

Please don't give me too hard of a time, but after reading through this thread, I'm a bit confused on my FTW3 3090.

What exactly do I need to order from amazon to get this card happily mining again? I was at 92-94C stock, then I "upgraded" to an Hybrid cooler from EVGA and my mining temps skyrocketed to 100-104C. I have reseated it and checked for contact and it looks fine, so I just want to go back to air cooling.

Big thanks for any straight up list of what I need to order.

Just a quick question, If I'm planning on installing a ek block to my 3090 ftw3 and using thermalright pads, would I still foow the installation guide for thickness of the pads? Or would I have to increase the pad size because the stock ek blue pads are pretty hard. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Would love to know this as well since i am doing the active backplate as well!

I've talked to someone on reddit that told me the pads are about the same firmness and the 1mm stock ek pads were swapped for thermalright pads without issue. Because the pads are firm I also picked up some 10 w/mk putty to fill in the gaps between mem modules as seen from Jufes/frame chasers.

This has been posted on another message, so this is repeat:

For EVGA 3090 FTW:
Do not use thermal pads, they do not perform as well as the stock thermal putty that EVGA uses. I tried various thermal pads (over $100 worth) and I could not get better memory junction temperatures then stock. You must use thermal putty.

This is what I used TG-PP10-50 (if you are American, use digikey.com web site to buy. I used digikey.ca to buy):

It's expensive, but it works way better then thermal pads. You will need lots, it took 20g just to do the backplate. If you're redoing the entire card order 50g (maybe even 100g).

For the GPU use a good thermal paste, like noctula.

Edit:
for some reason I can't post a URL link to digikey. I will post picture.

Hum interesting.
Did you try Gelid Extreme too ? Some said it is ok, because smooth.
What is your temperature for memory junction now ?

So if i understood, the thermal paste use by EVGA in factory is better than others pad ?

Thermal paste is not the same as thermal putty or thermal pads. Thermal paste is used when the heat sink sit directly on the chip (GPU). Thermal putty or pads fills in gaps (1mm to 3mm) between the chips and heat sink (VRAM, MOSFETS).
I have gotten better performance using thermal putty then thermal pads.

I did not take photos.

If you did not take off the heat sinks and scrap off the stock thermal gel, I would leave everything as is. The card as it is from the factory has fairly good thermal compound and thermal putty.

I got this product- Loplilip may have even been talking about my post. (if you use it make SURE YOUR HANDS AND ANYTHING TOUCHING IT ARE CLEAN) I have a 3080 ftw hybrid (DIY kit that I used all stock paste and pads on GPU side provided by EVGA) 3070ti and 3090 ftw

over the weekend I pulled off the back plate of my 3080 and 3070ti. the 70ti only has a 2 places with stock thermal putty. I removed it and slapped on the putty in the image. my temps did go down a few c's (GPU side is untouched and will remain so unless EVGA makes a hybrid)

for the 3080 hybrid there is a lot more real estate. this putty is great. its very soft (and sticky) I dabbed on each connecter and chip face on backplate side (nothing on GPU die as its open air and I don't want to cover it) I treated the putty like paste. dots that will compress with the placement of the backplate and "compress and squish for contact". temps dropped a few more C's than the 70ti and I believe that comes from the active AIO on the other side. I will be attaching heat sink fins with thermal tape today after the tape arrives. I strongly believe the goal is to wick away the heat on the backplate to have any hope of lowering the mem temps. I have some 350CFM fans that sound like jet engines when going full speed (5500RPM) and those do well to wick heat off the plate. I feel as though adding the fins and tape with the direct fans will have good effect. my door bell just rang, I will report back after I attach and note temps.

*I will not have pre mod temps as mine were close to what others reported for both mining and gaming.*

Glid extreme is a thermal paste, and will not work for the mosfets and vram (because it won't fill in the gasp). You need to get the thermal putty.

The GPU die will work perfectly fine with glid.
