Been playing Doom Eternal now that it is part of Game Pass and at stock settings, stock BIOS, the clocks are averaging ~1770 w/ drops to 1755. Most other games seem fine. Contacted tech support and they said to post up here for input. If anyone happens to have Doom Eternal and the same card could you sanity check the clocks I am seeing? Wondering if this is just an issue of drivers/software or if the clocks dropping below 1800 are indicative of a problem w/ the card as it is advertised to run at 1800.

Doom Eternal
3440*1440
Vsync Off
Ultra Nightmare Preset
RTX 3090 FTW 3 Ultra
Stock settings, stock bios.
Nvidia Driver 457.30

    If your temps aren't getting to the actual thermal throttle for ampere (91 or 93C?), then your card is not working as advertised. RMA it and get a new one, because 1800MHz is guaranteed minimum boost clock for the 3090 FTW3 Ultra as per EVGA's own advertising.

    They max out in-game ~67c. The card is in a 011D case that has two 120mm fans two or three inches below it blowing cool air right into the fan shroud. I don't think it's a heat issue. =/

    I forgot to mention, turn off Vsync / Gsync and/or any frame limiters.

    This can also artificially lower clockspeeds.

    V-Sync, and G-Sync are all off. Went ahead and tested both G-Sync on and G-Sync off though just for curiosity's sake, same results. It tends to peak around 1845 and drop to 1755, chilling most of the time around 1785-1770. Other titles behave vastly differently. The other game I am playing right now, Immortals Fenyx Rising boosts to 1965 at stock settings. Was just hoping to confirm w/ others that might have similar hardware if they were seeing similar clock speeds. EVGA tech said it could be a software/driver issue w/ the game having just released on Game Pass, was trying to validate that.

    @Sajin Yes sir!

    If it’s clocking differently in different games, that’sa driver thing

    The ftw3 Ultra card is sold as 1800 GPU rated.  With max sliders on PX1, try running Port Royal and see what the GPU clocks run with the stock bios.  Under detail results, you'll see stats.  If temps are under 70C, should be boosting at least 1800.  I run a conservative 100 GPU/650 mem while gaming at normal house temps.  Playing Ancient Gods Swamp mission just now at 3840x1600, HDR, custom ultra everything except motion blur, g-sync w/target 120fps, PX1 overlay shows a pretty stable 2040 in-game gpu at 62C.  Running a solid 120fps.  Room ambient is 26C.

    As Sajin said, check Nvidia control panel>Manage 3D settings>Power management  mode>Prefer Maximum performance

    Jacob said OC bios mode just changes default fan curve.  You need to update Bios for higher power limits.
