Has anyone run Blender extensively on both a 3080 & a 3090? I know the extra VRAM helps, but is it something you really notice (outside of offline rendering) when creating content?
 
FYI building a system around a 5950x with 64 GB 3600 Mhz C16 & a pair of Samsung 980 Pro NVMEs. Trying to snag either card (without a scalper), but wondering if the 3090 is worth it given I'm a hobbyist.

Unless you're actually creating content such as video editing/rendering or 3D asset creation or animation, or some sort of simulation where lots of VRAM and the extra cuda cores and such could be used and you're actually earning a living from it, you're not going to see much of a difference just making stuff in Blender. I'd stick with the 3080, or 3080Ti. 

Depends on if you need that VRAM. Almost definitely not worth it for the clocks alone (unless, of course, it's the only one you can get your hands on these days and you need some card asap).

I want to get a 3090 for deep learning.
