blizz93 I have been reading a bit of this thread and I see that some people mention that the performance of the 3080 ti xc3 is worse than a FE but at least the results that I see from benchmarks of my gpu is that the performance is equal or a little better than a FE and I'm also seeing the same power limit that many say around 344w and 350w this is the last result I got on time spy just for comparison.

Lucky you. You got a golden version with just the right sauce of component tolerances to cause it to behave as it is supposed to behave. and I'm also seeing the same power limit that many say around 344w and 350w To be clear, a lot of 3080 Ti XC3 owners are NOT seeing that "same power limit". You are NOT seeing the same power limit that lot of XC3 owners are.

Best way to increase performance so far for me at least has been just overclocking at the voltages that the card gets locked down to. Getting 19100ish scores back to back which means it's kinda matching FE in terms of score.

This is a $1,551.40 (after tax and shipping) card and it can't even beat a stock 3080 Ti FE card. And whats up with the firmware making the card score lower? How can you start PX1 without it trying to up the firmware?

Yeah, I understand. It sucks that we have to do this weird overclocking/undervolting just to boost upto stock 3080 Ti FE numbers Link to my score: http://www.3dmark.com/spy/21652083 Overclocked at .816 volts to 1800 and +1000 on memory

Oh you got a golden unit lol, I had to overclock at crazy low voltage just get 19000 scores. Still so curious on why some cards' performance differ from each other.

Physical difference in components. It's called component tolerance. If you use cheaper components with a wider tolerance during manufacturing and didn't properly take those effects into consideration earlier when engineering the product, you wind up with these sorts of outcomes. What's really surprising is that these issues were uncovered 8 months ago with EVGA 3080s and 3090s, yet apparently nothing was done to prevent these newer EVGA releases from exhibiting the same symptoms.

wow. I saw that EVGA_Lee hid your post and didnt comment here still? I kind of understand him hiding your post in that other BIOS thread, since technically it's off topic. but to do that, and then remain silent and not say ANYTHING here about the issue is a little suspect. EVGA_Lee or Jacob, or ANYONE from EVGA, it would be nice to at least give a comment that you're looking into this. I don't expect that you PR and Marketing people have the technical knowledge to know what's happening to cause the issues, but some kind of acknowledgement that you've sent the information to your more technical-wise team members would go a long wayto show that you're not just actively ignoring your customers.

This issue is going to come to light and EVGA will have to respond to it if it's the last thing I do in life. I can't sit by and let EVGA get away with this. Ignoring the issue, hiding post about the issue, EVGA is losing integrity by doing this.

were you able to get in touch with any tech reviewer to evaluate your 3080ti XC3 Gaming? you mentioned that before. you might also consider making a post on reddit's r/EVGA page. or twitter, since that seems to be Jacob's preferred method of communication.

kram36 Well I'm a gluten for punishment. Went ahead and bought the 3080 Ti XC3 Hydro Copper hoping I might get a decent card. Nope, it's actually worse then my other 3080 Ti XC3 Air Cooled card. Also I thought the PX1 Firmware Update was not supposed to affect the card's performance? After I did the firmware update my scores were lower.

I understand where you are coming from. Your post made me remember my PNY 7600 GS 512 MB purchase in 2007 with my savings . Reference had like 800 MHz 256MB memory clock. PNY decided to replace the 800MHz 256MB memory with a much slower 520MHz 512MB, that made it a subpar card and dropped it to like a 7300 GT level performance. Felt really bad and frustrated, but lesson learned.

I highly advise against buying a 3080 Ti XC3 card in any form. EVGA won't even respond to the issue.

If you want to buy it and risk getting a card that's between 3080 and 3080 FE then go for it. It's better than no card tbh.

$1600 for a card that performs like that. No card is better then paying $1600 for this card.

Is there a graphics test that won't be affected too much using an old cpu? I'd like to see how my scores compare.

Port Royal bottenecking will almost be non-existent, but it might hinder Time Spy GPU score slightly, but not radically. Here are random samples. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/21536487 https://www.3dmark.com/pr/1127813

Sir_Sizzle77 Is there a graphics test that won't be affected too much using an old cpu? I'd like to see how my scores compare.
Port Royal doesn't seem to have a big issue with what CPU you use. Hybrid card on the left, Hydro Copper on the right. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/pr/1131044/pr/1136756

My 3080 Ti FTW3 card works like a charm. I would not hesitate to purchase either of those cards.

So regarding independent reviews and tech reviewers potential opinions on this, this article from June 2 includes a copy of the XC3 and he found that the performance of the card is slightly under the FE. He didn't scream foul, but it looks like with stock clocks these cards are slightly less performant than the FE. It's also worth noting his FE time spy graphics score is substantially under the one that's being thrown around on here. (I think I can post links now... or not) google hothardware 3080 ti amped up ampere first hit It's worth remembering that any reviewers score for a graphics card in a single bench mark represents a single unit. There is a large amount of variability in a single card model.
