rale317 I bought the SC+ cause it's already factory OCed and stable.
I had that card too, I sold it last year and it went under water... I never had problems with it. It went to 1480MHz with oc, as far as I know. Out of curiosity, did you create your own fancurve? I did that, more aggressive, because I'm not a friend of the semi-passive cooling. You should contact EVGA. Good luck with you rma! Edit:...

I got a 900 card's as well all seem fine but I use older drivers ? with any of this stuff you never know what can happen after you push the start button . I had a flash bang with smokescreen in rigs before . card, mo board , psu's . thing here is how many posts in a short time popping up. like maybe the latest drivers geared to 10 series may screw with the 900 series power plans / states ??? if your unlucky to have a part that's weak maybe then a bit more then it was able to chew ?

My system is up to date... But I do unplug my computer every day from electricity. I do this with all my electric components, and every year, I get some cash back!

Oh my gosh. I only had lightning with two PSU's from Corsair. Edit: You, everybody, should unplug his electronic... It is better for your wallet and for the environment. Besides, it does extend the lifetime of your hardware. Cheers, with Jever!!!

OT, but responding to OT's. Do you both own a UPS? I have an 1800W (20 volt required) UPS, that I have my Monitor, Computer, and Modem on. Isnt just shutting the computer down after using it enough to save it in case of lightning? (I live in a lightning rich state, but have never had a problem with anything, as the UPS protects me from EVERYTHING, even brownouts). And, specifically @ Dr. Death: Why do you say the 1000 series is bad, and that older cards are better? Something about 500 games vs 200 games? I am really interested in why you think that? I think its a Win10 problem, not a hardware problem, but it seems you have read a lot more than I in the last few years. Wouldnt a 1000 series be just as good on say Win7 64 or Win 8/8.1 ? Or is Nvidia making the cards DX12 only now? Thanks. And, sorry for OT.

10 series don't support as much ??? easy to see that I show that in other threads here .. why buy a card for 500 bucks that cant do as much out of the box as the older series at 500 bucks ?? that's silly can a 10 series support all my monitors ?? no can a 900 , yes can I use a 900 series with down to win-xp ? yes can a 10 series ? no ect...... what the heck am I paying for here in the end ? a 1/2 butt card that I now have to support the card instead of a card that fully supports me ?? you guys just don't see how your being shafted with all this ''latest '' stuff its a joke . I prefer buy hardware that supports me not me having to pay to support ''them'' I cant use this monitor so I got to buy another or a silly crazy adaptor to support this card I can use this os cause the cards not supported under it and I cant this and I cant that .. now you notice the trend in all this latest haedware just about forced in to win-10 or nothing .. i'll pass . then add the data collecting built in smoked screened by LED lighting

When I created this post I was only looking for experiences or opinions on the inductors failing or burning up to see how common it was. Since then this topic has gone way off the rails and EVGA has also handled the issue and compensated me more than fairly.
If a mod would like, could close thread.
