Even on Unigen Heaven benchmark the difference is dramatic.  Is this normal?  Is Mem1 not in use?  How can I be sure the card is not malfunctioning?

Thanks all!

Within normal limits I'd say, from my observations on a KPE card. With the 2080 Ti cards there's VRM components on the MEM1 side as well, but less of a heatsink. Max temps on GDDR6 is 95c, so you're well under that.

Mine do the same as well, Normal for the RTX Graphics Cards.

It's the norm.  I'm not sure how it all works but I think, correct me if I'm wrong from an engineering standpoint, where there's load on those chips they will warm up, especially those memory banks between the GPU and VRM section as that heat gets builds up in those areas, leaving the most left bank much cooler than the rest.

I disagree but to each their own.

It's been seen as the norm around here because a rep from EVGA once said because of the positioning from the memory banks being near heat sources can create higher temps than the others.

If one of the three banks is at 40c and the other two are at 50c that is normal, but when one bank is at 40c and the others are at 70c... yeah I wouldn't call that normal.

I get what you're saying but I swear I've seen other examples on these forums where they had 20c-30c difference from their memory banks similarly here.

You really cannot compare a GTX Graphics Card to a RTX Graphics Card.
    GDDR5X -v- GDDR6 is another reason why.

You're comparing a 1080 Ti now?  I get it's a Kingpin but still.  Let's stay on topic with same series and what other's have shown throughout the thread since the release of the 2080 Ti.

    Sajin

Guess that pretty much backs up my point.

I'm missing your point here because I'm not here to challenge you but to let you know that others have had 20c+ difference between their ram banks and it seems everything was 'fine' or at least we were being told as such.

Remember the whole Micron in question months back or when people were complaining about their temps being high and the wide temp gap between banks?  Remember telling folks the chips are within their limits since the threshold limit is higher than that?  Now you're saying the complete opposite which has me puzzled unless you know something I don't know.

Yes, it will be cooler with a Hybrid cooler but is this what the OP is referring too?  I thought this is a 2080 Ti FTW3 on air.  I must have missed it because I'm going by what he's said on his title and his first post.

Yes, the temps are technically within spec, so the op shouldn't worry about it. Yeah, I thought the op had a hybrid card for some reason. lol. oops.

Even on Unigen Heaven benchmark the difference is dramatic.  Is this normal?  Is Mem1 not in use?  How can I be sure the card is not malfunctioning?

The difference is normal. This is because the temperature sensors for MEM2 and MEM3 don't get the same cooling as the VRAM modules themselves. Here is a post where one of the EVGA techs explain:

    EVGATech_ChristianJ
    Hello whiskeyjaack,

The MEM2 and MEM3 temperatures are normal due to their location near the VRM. The temperature sensors are on the PCB itself, they don't get direct airflow and they are not making contact with the same thermal pads for cooling that they memory is making contact.

The post above is in this thread:
