True. Which is why I prefer the EVGA since the Strix sacrifices temps and performance for silence. No official reviews of the FTW3 either. I guess we have to wait and see what noise and temps look like once someone gets their hands on a card. 

Yes in all honesty the 3 fan design should be able to handle the heat at a reasonable noise level... I wouldn't know because I always go hybrid or water block.
 
My buddy has FTW3 with the 3 fans and he does claim it's quite...

If I were you, and you are me because we're both looking at the FTW3, I'd get the card first on air and then if I'm not totally satisfied I'd buy a water block. But the temps are pretty damn low judging by early benchmarks even on air. 

I’m not keeping the FTW3 I pre-ordered, it’s foing to a customer. I plan on getting the FTW3 Hybrid for myself once it’s available.

Well, you don't need temp low, but silence and performance. Cards are fine up to 80ish.

Silence and performance are opposites. Can't have both at full load. 

You can if it’s a hybrid or water cooled 🤷🏾‍♂️

As long as I can order this year I’ll be fine. Jacob said the hybrids should be up for pre-order this month. While that may have been pushed back I still hope to order this month or next month. I’m wanting to put my machine together by Xmas, I’m in no rush to get what I want. I’ve been waiting for almost a year for next gen parts (GPU & CPU) to get released.

I'm hoping that the 2080TI will be able to not be 100% all the time when gaming.  I'm stuck at 4k/60Hz on my monitor so it shouldn't be working too hard.  That and of course headphones lol :D

Having a case with good airflow (open mesh front) will certainly help to cool the card and reduce temps thus reducing fan load. 

I should have plenty of airflow but if i have issues can remove the front panel to get more.  Function over looks. :D

Might you have a case in mind? I'm still putting my rig together in PC Part Picker and am open to suggestions. Right now I'm eyeing a Corsair 330R blackout. 

I’m still ordering parts for my build too. Right now I plan on picking up a Cooler Master H500M, but I’d be interested in hearing what suggestions folks have here. The H500M sold me on the flexibility, air flow and ARGB fans/controller being included. I know, I know...bling sucks, but I haven’t built a new rig in years and I want some lights lol

Jacob said all preorders would be shipped by Thursday. So you've got one day left before going full drama queen.

Oh, so the 6 other times Jacob missed his promised ship date don't count now?

I only recall two times that Jacob said some of the cards would ship. And on both of those times some of the cards shipped.  The latest that we heard from him on Monday is that all of the cards will ship either Wednesday or Thursday. So yeah, I don't think he's missed in promised ship dates.

By your own admission.  He stated Wednesday or Thursday.  It is not Thursday yet kiddo.  Calm down.  If you go to your pre-order and read what it says.  "ESTIMATED" Ship Time.  If you wait until tomorrow early evening, and nothing has been shipped or said, get the pitchforks.

Every time some sort of meme is posted we get shipments.  Might as well look to the positive confirmation bias instead of the negative.

Is it a good sign that Best Buy had some 2080 TI's (XC Ultra) in stock and that the 2080 FTW3 is available on EVGA site?  I mean, there has to be more coming right?
