I wonder when reviewers will be getting their 2080 ti FTW3 cards.  I would like to see Steve at GamersNexus review it.

He provides good info but man, he just drones on in that monotone voice. I find it hard to get through a full video although he was lively in the Toms hardware "Just buy it" video. 

Did you see the one where he went to the chaps that did the benchmarks for the new Intel chips?  He drove over to their office and grilled one of the co-founders about their screw ups.  It was awesome lol

 
Yes, I watched some of it. Never heard of Principled Technologies before now but it appeared they didn't fully understand how to maximize performance of either platform, more to the detriment of AMD. Why Intel decided to commission this "review" is beyond me. We already knew this chip would be a good performer and people would buy it if even with the slightest performance gains over even the 8700-k. 
 
AMD is putting out competitive CPUs particularly when using 1440p and more so with 4K monitors. I'd entertain using Ryzen if I were building today and I am in fact, putting together a x470/Ryzen mini-itx build for a co-worker's nephew. It will have a 2080 Ti if we can get a hold of one before x-mas (fingers crossed). 

Will today finally be the day of shipping?

Just a quick question: Which payment methods are available during the order process?

Yea i ordered mine on 12/09 and they will ship cards who knows when if im lucky end of november :D (3-4 weeks estimated shipping lmao). I dont want to even talk about their RMA department in EU just a horror story with broken 1080ti ftw3. Probably last gen im buying from EVGA EU.

I did. But only a very small one.

Pretty sure you did not get a daily update on shipping it. I was waiting for my R44 for a year with zero info. One day they just showed up at the south gate. Couldn't even bother to call in advance so I can drive there, so it caught me in my gaming house.

Honestly if i didn't plan to watercool the card, at this point i would have a 2080ti from another aib already.
I mean, they do have stock so there is that.

Why would you water-cool the FTW? You won't gain too much in the way of performance and its already a cold card.

Ah but that 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra is going to be so sweet, and so worth the wait...
Once in hand, all that waiting will be long forgotten.

Sold my 1080ti two weeks ago and not being able to game is driving me crazy, especially since amazon preorder got a delivery on 2th november.
Also i spend all my days refreshing the store webpage because i don't want to miss the in stock again :D

I was thinking it would be better for consistent gains and keeping the temp low would mean better longevity.  I mean..that's why I plan to pick up the hybrid, or am I way off base and better with an air cooled card?

If I were you, and you are me because we're both looking at the FTW3, I'd get the card first on air and then if I'm not totally satisfied I'd buy a water block. But the temps are pretty damn low judging by early benchmarks even on air.

I do it mainly to silence the ridiculously loud fans...

Are they that loud? They can't be worse than FE fans lol. And my hyper clouds block out everything so it doesn't bother me.

Same. Depends on the noise level of this card. My PC is next to me about four feet away. Droning of fans is very distracting

Strange because the card has been advertised as "quiet". You have it already to confirm its loud?

I have never had a GPU that was not loud when under full load unless its water cooled or hybrid...
 
 

I'm hoping that the 2080TI will be able to not be 100% all the time when gaming.  I'm stuck at 4k/60Hz on my monitor so it shouldn't be working too hard.  That and of course headphones lol :D

Having a case with good airflow (open mesh front) will certainly help to cool the card and reduce temps thus reducing fan load.
