I ran the 2.02 bios update on my reformatted pc (Had to reinstall Windows). I ran the bat and hit Y. After it finished it closed and shutdown my pc. When trying to start back up however, my pc wouldn't start. Everything in the tower turns on, light and fans, but there is no beep and no display. The error code reads zero-lowercase d. I haven't found anything on this error code. Edit: btw i have the z170 FTW

Does your motherboard come with multiple bioses? If yes, simply switch to another one to get the system back up and running.

Uh... I don't have a clue. How would I check? Also how would I switch?

Looks like your motherboard doesn't have multiple bioses, however, your motherboard does have a replaceable bios on it. You'll need to contact evga tech support, and request for them to send you out another bios with v2.01 loaded to it. https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

You could try 2.02 again if you'd like. Just said 2.01 since you had a problem with 2.02.

Try creating a bootable USB flash drive with Rufus..Then put the files from the unzipped E177_flashtool_201 (BIOS 2.01) on the flash drive..Then disconnect all drives (HDDs, SSDs, Optical drives) so that the flash drive is detected as the only possible boot drive..Put the flash drive in a USB port and start your PC..Then run the update.bat on the flash drive. Or, grab an AMI Flasher tool (the DOS based AMI BIOS flasher) and put it on a bootable flash drive along with the 1E177201.bin from the E177_flashtool_201 BIOS package..Then run using the command amiflash 1E177201.bin and see if it works. Gotta be a way to flash/recover the thing from a bootable USB DOS drive..Just gotta be (probably)..I've done it with AWD (Award BIOS) but it's been a long time ago..Or if you have another Z170 machine laying around you can boot it into Windows and then put your borked BIOS chip in it and hot flash it..Or you can just get another BIOS chip from EVGA like Sajin said. AMI Flasher utility AFUDOS, AFUWIN, AFULNX, AFUEFI downloads How do you flash your BIOS ?You can find more info about it by searching around for "AMI BIOS Flash" and it will give you something to try if you're inclined to do so..Might just be a simple recovery, dunno for sure..Good luck.

I don't know that I would be able to run anything from a flash drive, since my pc doesn't POST.

Maybe/maybe not..Just posting some solutions that might work short of buying another BIOS chip and get you up and running again..You can search for AMIBOOT.ROM and AMI BIOS recovery also, there's lots of info out there.

Does EVGA have a tool to make a Flash drive bootable (DOS? or EUFI?) that can be used on Z170, or higher systems?
