Bill with your luck you should turn off your computers and go buy a stack of lotto tickets!!! congrats
You may catch Scott yet.

I switched out a few days ago myself, with the last three week challenge and this four week TDP. Just a couple looking for a mega badge
It is taking up way too much prime crunching season. If you factor in it is 5 months long it is one third of the cold season.

Damn man! way to go with those finds!

And i don't know if primegrid's computing preferences section finally started sending its configurations down but i had to change the multiprocessor settings to 1:
otherwise it was sending down the number it was set to.. even though its set to 0 days of extra work and all that. Never had that issue before. Just a heads up.

Well that "fix" worked for about 12 hours before it did an update after losing connection to the internet..

Is there a setting to force it to only download one at a time cause it just download like 20 ppse tasks on my main computer. not gonna find any primes like that.

Go to your account at the PG website. Then edit preferences, at the top set it to 0 resource share.

When you abort tasks it can kill others so please next year set the ( resource share 0) and your Cache to 0 In the Client.
For 2 days now have been running tasks from 2 & 3 days go that are completed and now running the Doublechecker.
This month is not the time to collect Points from PG it is all about getting Primes.
There are lot of Host running tasks that fail 100% and they to are old and well have be run 99% have been completed and now we have to run the Doublechecker form them as well. PG can give a hoot and then seem to not care at all with host doing this.

I have posed on the Dark Side how I run PG for finding Primes.
I pinned it on the Dark Side

Because the Tasks has to be resent out this is what happens, so we end up only running Doublechecker tasks, I have 1000's Doublechecker tasks running. For this is an issue that needed to be correct over on PG but they do not care one bit

Like this Host https://www.primegrid.com/results.php?hostid=473181&offset=0&show_names=0&state=7&appid
All Tasks are failing this small as the one I posted on the PG Forum has failed tasks since the 1st
https://www.primegrid.com/results.php?hostid=153120&offset=0&show_names=0&state=6&appid now over 1900 failed.

So this is why finding Primes this year suck

cool, fingers crossed that fixes it. I didn't even have this issue a few days ago. So very strange. Very very strange.

So until we run all the Failed aborted and timed out tasks this what we get.
But because PG is doing nothing about it we will have Failed aborted and timed out tasks all the time.
Normal time who cares but we are on the Clock for the MT Event going on today.

OK, my rant is over now and I feel much better.

I do not think it matters if some ones system fails, or if people delete tasks. Reason for thinking this.
Every one has the same chance of getting a recycled task, no one person is getting them all, everyone has the same odds.
A set of tasks is not sent out at the same time anyway so the first person that gets one of a set has on average a 10 to 60 minute advantage. Sometimes even longer on some projects with out heavy traffic.
The server makes a set of tasks, then those two tasks (a set) gets sent to a distribution server where the tasks can sit for a while.
The distribution server does not send the set of tasks out at the same time. It send out tasks randomly, not a set at a time.
This is why they are not so concerned at PG over the rouge clients returning bad tasks. Everyone has the same odds of getting one.
The other one of the set maybe sent to someone else who deletes it, they can go round and round before turned in.
Finding primes suck this year? You found a dozen, I found 2 and one DC and I have ran a hundred thousand tasks.
Finding primes is a matter of luck. The more you process the better chance but it still is a matter of luck.
First getting a prime sent to you the being the first to return it.
Look at it this way Bill. You get sent the prime first and the bad client get the other task in the set. You now have the advantage!!

recycled task are fine but suck when they are completed days earlier and we are only running the Doublechecker tasks.
24 Hours is a short time after all and we only have 5 Hours left.

What % of the tasks you are processing are these recycled tasks? It can not be a very high % it is random.

Think of it like folding and they come out with a new low PPD work unit. Kinda stinks the PPD is down.
But it is down for every folder and every team. No one has an advantage.

Had to add this to global_prefs.xml and global_prefs_override.xml:

<work_buf_min_days>0.001000</work_buf_min_days>
<work_buf_additional_days>0.000000</work_buf_additional_days>

Now it grabs a task right when it uploads a finished one. I don't know what changed in the past week but all my computers started downloading as many tasks as there were cores despite it being just 0 in cache and in resource share. I didn't change anything, that's all I know. lol

Made it 0.001 on PG too.

Dear Primefinder,
Congratulations! Our records indicate that a computer registered by you has found a unique prime number. This computer is running BOINC, is attached to the PrimeGrid project, and is assigned to the Proth Prime Search. What makes this prime unique is that it's large enough to enter the Top 5000 List in Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database.
Since you have auto-reporting selected, the following prime was submitted on your behalf:
Added 126225 : 4409*2^1529327+1 (460377 digits)
This prime was found on this workunit which will automatically show as a prime result after verification by the Largest Known Primes Database.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will surely resolve any problems.
Once again, congratulations on your find! Thank you for participating in PrimeGrid.
