hello I currently have EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P6, 80 Plus Platinum 850W
power supply which has 4 8 pin vga connectors and was wondering how many need to be used when it comes to cablemod to be safe since they offer up to using 4

    It doesn't work like that. I took a quick look at the cablemod webpage and cables made by them for your PSU. Their cables use two PCI-e cables with the output on the 16 pin connector. Your RTX 4080 super should use the 16 pin connector.
