As above, is this normal? I know they generally go over boost clock if temps allow but this seems quite far over (not complaining!).

All I did was raise the temp & power targets and the voltage slider to MAX and she looks like this while gaming:

I'm already tempted to chop this in for the up coming FTW3 Hybrid, reckon it's worth doing?

Maybe the FTW3 comes a little bit more OC, maybe.
But, IMO, I would stick with a SC2 and buy a Hybrid kit for it.
    But that's what I think.

    EDIT:
Yesterday I was messing with OC on my FTW3. I didn't changed the voltage Bar, only tried to mess with core clock, memory clock and Power Target set all the way up.
Hit only +50 mhz on core clock (=/), but with memory clock, I got 300+ offset (sorry, no printscreen to post here at the moment).

During Firestrike Extreme, I got something like 2050mhz on core clock, and 5800 mem. clock.

That's a really good boost and would likely get a FTW3 that isn't as good, seeing as how yours boosts to 1987 without any overclock. My 1080 Ti FE with an AIO watercooler boosts to 1911 and overclocks to 2000 (max 2064 for benchmarking).

Remember, all 10 series cards overclock to a relatively small frequency span of about 150MHz difference. 1950 on the low end, and 2100 on the high end - with a small number of outliers above and below.

Does overclocking degrade the lifespan of the GPU? Is there a recommended limit for the GPU and Memory Clock Offsets? Sorry, im a noob when it comes to overclocking GPUs. Im currently waiting for delivery of the FTW3

Maybe I'll stick with my SC2 Hybrid then as it's boosting nicely.

It does reduce life, but not in a very significant way. Usually you will stop using the card because it becomes obsolete way before it dies.
You can push the offsets as much as you want as long as it keeps working fine without errors. I would suggest you do not set stupid clocks (like + 500MHz gpu core) immediately after you get the card. While trying to find your overclock, increase the overclock values in small amounts (like +50 or +25) and test that the card is still stable.

It is difficult to damage the card while overclocking using PrecisionXOC as long as you do not set really stupid values, and even then it will probably just crash your system and nothing else.

Sorry, I didn't read you signature.

My SC2 Hybrid only boost to 1924mhz no overclock.

With a OC I can push it to 2000mhz.

The difference between the two (MHz) when gaming is literally 1 to 3 FPS for me at best.

No point in getting the a new 1080ti, if you are looking a big change to gaming.

Saying that I will be selling my SC2 Hybrid, because that 1080 ti FTW3 Hybrid (Batmoblie Edition) looks to Sexy.

My SC2 Hybrid also boosts to 1987mhz just sliding the temp/power/voltage sliders to max. EVGA does not bin GPUs, aside from the Kingpin edition which appears to be guaranteed OC to 2025mhz. You could get a FTW3 Hybrid that OC's lower than your SC2 Hybrid. Total waste. I've gotten Classifieds and FTW in the past that were terrible OC'ers. If you want the guaranteed additional base / boost at stock that the FTW3 provides then go for it. It is a whopping 13mhz / 1 bin. If you think you'll easily get stable 2100mhz with a FTW3 card, you're going after a golden card that you likely won't get. If your SC2 gets to 1987 at stock you should see 2025 - 2050 for an overclock. Which is very solid.

Cheers lads, I'll stick with my Hybrid SC2 then!

Truth be told, I have in the past sold new cards and re-bought the FTW / Classified version in the hope of a bit of extra performance. Whether it was  the right thing to do I doubt it. You won't see much performance difference between 2050 and 2100 mhz in games. But I completely understand the urge. Heck if there is a large improvement once the card releases I may do it, but I'm really trying to stand pat and resist and enjoy my awesome new card. All I'll say is if you do swap cards, don't return it for the FTW3 Hybrid. Do the right thing and sell it, take it like a man, and buy the FTW3. I'll get off my high horse now, lol. I don't like seeing perfectly good products being returned for no reason.
