I have 2 1080ti FTW3 hybrid's on order. I knew ahead of time that there is going to be no room to overclock and I am fine with that. Unfortunately, after I started reading I am now worried that my current PSU will not be strong enough even without an overclock. Was wondering if someone smarter than me could give me some advice here on two things:
  1. will everything run/be fine so long as I do not OC?
  2. one of the things I came across trying to research on my own was a discussion of using 2 seperate PCI power cables from the PSU to the GPU, I didn't even realize this was a thing. --> for my SLI setup the example would be 4 separate cables from the PSU to the GPUs with each 8pin slot power slot on the GPU getting its own line to the PSU.. is that actually necessary or does that have to do with the quality of power supply and the amperage etc etc.

Maybe you have to post so much before the boards will let you post links or it could be a problem on my end. Should at least be posting them now without a direct link, have to add the period yourself. :(

Looked at your parts list and your psu should have no problem with your setup with no overclock your drawing a little over 700 watts of power and your using a platinum psu so i think your good.

Welcome to the forums..You can use the Outervision Power Supply Calculator to estimate your system wattage need..You should be more than good with a Corsair HX1000i and have headroom for some overclocking too, but see what the calculator says..The calculator will adjust for overclocking if you enter the info.

Using one 8-pin PCIe cable (at the PSU end) that splits off into 2 connectors (at the graphics card end) should work fine.
